Avi Snow, Tamir Regev & No/Me team up for ‘Metaphysical’ with KONG. on Bedouin’s Human By Default this August.

New York-based producer Tamir Regev has worked on various projects and under several aliases throughout the past decade, producing for other people as well as solo. Multi-instrumentalist, writer, and producer Avi Snow is one of his frequent collaborators and is a master of indie-pop grooves. Also involved in this release is No/Me, a singer-songwriter, and KONG.

The majestic title track opens up with a spine-tingling excursion filled with hypnotic percussion, gorgeous acoustic strings, and a tender and soft vocal. It's a rich track that makes an impression well beyond the dance floor. Tamir Regev then goes solo for 'The Old Days', an exquisitely enchanting sound with subtlety rousing vocals and a gentle smattering of organic hits and chords.

For its last release of 2023, When We Dip XYZ is proud to present a three track remix pack of Motip White’s ‘Clean the Turbines’ EP. 

Kicking things off is Atish, chopping and pitching Motip White’s vocal from ‘What Do You Want Me to Say.’ The Manjumasi label-boss complements the track with a rolling bassline, glitches hitting left, right, and centre, and the gritty bass fills from the original. 
 
Also taking on ‘What Do You Want Me to Say,’ Gespona & Djolee craft huge percussion rolls and manipulate White’s layers and textures. The two artists, who have just launched their own label ‘Rummel,’ leave room for the memorable hook halfway through, which then recedes in favour of the heavy drums. 

Third up is Meera with her take on ‘Clean the Turbines.’ Faithful to her style, which has recently been showcased on VOD and Crosstown Rebels, she opposes a subby kick with a tempest of hats & shakers, harmonically guided by a light piano. The Norwegian producer keeps on building the energy, surprisingly introducing her own vocals and an acid layer on the arp as the tune unfolds.

Esigia has been years in the making, and we believe the outcome justifies the wait.

Back in the start of 2016 the trio made quite a ruckus, bringing a new sound out of Africa, to the global scene. A raw Afro beat, mixed with synths and Ghanaian vocals.

On 'Esigia,' Djuma Soundsystem envisioned blending the distinct sounds of the Ghanaian kologo, a home made two string instrument, with classic Chicago house. He invited one of Ghana's foremost kologo talents, King Ayisoba, and his band for a jam, and the result was vocal calls and responses that effortlessly intertwine with deep house synth lines and King's kologo, bridging organic percussion with electronic manipulation.

The remix pack is second to none, kicking off with Swiss maestro Kellerkind's smooth deep approach, adding his own signature groove. Kintar transports the track to another realm, introducing playful pianos and guitars to dance atop of a deep beat, taking all listeners on a surprising turn in a jazzy break. Finally, we introduce our in-house talent Ruskar, Brazil's youngest Afro house sensation, with his distinctive sound that never fails to ignite the dancefloor.
