INFEKT - Score

This track started with a really unusual sound design experiment. I routed the FM radio from my OP-1 into my soundcard, recorded some people talking in French. I have no idea what they were saying, but after cutting some bits out and post processing the little vocal chops, I ended up with what ended up being the main bass of this tune. Rumble. Although it’s hard to tell, If you listen closely you can still hear the vocal characteristics in it, especially in the little bass right before the drop.

This track was actually frankensteined together out of two different ideas. I had a playable version of the track to play it at EDC Las Vegas, but the intro wasn’t really ready for release. A little bit later I started a new project which was this weird metal-inspired bit with some complex sound design, layered with a distorted electric guitar sample. I remembered that I still needed an intro for the other track, so I turned it into a buildup and I think it turned out really well!
