Wave heavy weight Kavern returns to Liquid Ritual with 'Somebody Else' releasing   Wednesday 16 June. Kavern infuses contemporary and forward thinking elements into 'Somebody Else'; much like his previous label release 'Flamberge', which took the scene by storm. The Hardwave focus of the single evokes a pilgrimage to the dance floor with its rich EDM and Bass components, while also satiating the senses with an ethereal tone. This blend of a classic Wave soundscape with the ever evolving Hardwave sonic is equally an entry into the genre as it is humouring to longtime partisans.

KAVERN - Somebody Else

2024 was definitely a year where femme-forward pop music returned with a vengeance. Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter formed a holy trinity of pop girlies, and along with the sapphic vibes of Billie Eilish, these four artists are amply represented here, with no less than two mashups each.

Country went pop as well, as Beyoncé, Post Malone, Shaboozey, and Morgan Wallen all brought twang to the charts – which we then we took and turned into dance floor bangers. And while most of the vocals on these 33 tracks were big hits this past year, the instrumentals are mostly crowd-pleasing throwbacks. I mean, it's pretty much what we do.

Of course, we also love all the viral and pop culture moments of the year, so we've got a few wild cards in the mix, such as "Man In Finance," Saltburn '00s bops, and geek-bait like Agatha All Along. And we're happy to report the reemergence of two Bootie Mashup OGs, Party Ben and DJ Schmolli, each making a welcome return!

All seven DJs on our Twitch channel had a hand in picking out this year's track listing, while iWillBattle crafted a killer album opener, and "Queen Mother" Adriana A did the final mix.
