Following their album 'Murmurations', Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco has remixed all 12 tracks off the LP for the 'Re-Murmurations' release. Today we hear the first listen of the first mix of 'Caught In A Wave' off the album, one of the first releases from Shaw after he was diagnosed with AL amyloidosis, a rare and serious condition that affects blood cells in the bone marrow (http://www.amyloidosis.org.uk). After initial weeks in treatment, Jas was able to return to the studio and create 'Re-Murmurations', which will be out September 28 via Wichita Recordings. British talent Kirk Degiorgio gives new life to material produced under his As One alias with his 'Sphere' EP landing on Garage Hermétique that delivers a collection of lost classics on vinyl for the first time. 

Amongst the iconic jams is a new remix by none other than Detroit techno pioneer Juan Atkins, who supplies a tasty rendition of 'Asa Nisi Masa' that amps up the percussion and showcases funky synth variations with a driving rhythm.

There was a small revival of people who had left from the big city to embrace the far and distant future of the countryside. Wild and free they danced beside fires under the pale glow of the moonlight by standing stones which had arrived long before their time. They told stories late into the night, tall tales from the depths of their past in the big haunting city of lights which they had left so long behind. It was not a place which they would ever return, why would they dream of such a lifestyle when they had the world at their feet amidst the green?

All City Records are set to reissue a highly sought after post punk record from the depths of Irish obscurity. Stano's "Content To Write In I Dine Weathercraft" has fetched a pretty penny on Discogs across the years, This track features Michael O'Shea.

The jungle was beautiful at this time of year, the plants were growing with profound ease and the dense green of the forest seemed to appear from everywhere as if it had sprouted from the centre of the very earth itself. The cries of tropical birds could be heard from the rooftop of leaves which hung overhead whilst the hustle and movement down on the forest floor was enchanting and busy. In the distance there was the sound of water, it cascaded from a tall waterfall in the midst of the jungle...

MINIMALAFRIKA are set to release a new EP on E-Beamz and blimey is it a good one. Beautiful percussion workouts with abstract sensibilities and freedom.

International psych explorers Flamingods are back with brand new album ‘Levitation’ (3 May, Moshi Moshi Records) and have announced a run of dates including their biggest headline show to date at London’s Village Underground on 1 May.

The first single to be unveiled is ‘Marigold’, a multi-sensory psych-rock trip that finds  Flamingods on hair-raising form even by their own exuberant standards. ‘Marigold’ oozes fun out of every pore, a perfect antidote to turbulent times.

‘Levitation’ is inspired largely by the disco, funk and psychedelic sounds coming out of the Middle East and South Asia in the 70s, the album channels these influences through a vision soaked in mysticism, positivity and sun-drenched imagery.

‘Levitation’ is the follow-up to Flamingods’ breakthrough 2016 album ‘Majesty’ 
The band will be taking their incendiary live show to venues around the UK in April and May in support of the record, as well as a one-off-date supporting Omar Souleyman in Bristol January 31st.

Holy Hive, the group that coined the genre Folk/Soul, comes out swinging with this monster Single. “Oh I Miss Her So” is pulled from their upcoming release Harping EP: a drop dead gorgeous tune of love and longing featuring the harping of Mary Lattimore. The tune serves as a testament to The Hive’s gift for songwriting and arrangement, taking the listener on a ride from the first notes of Paul’s falsetto to the outro featuring Dave Guy’s (The Roots) gorgeous trumpet solo.
