Studying under Robert Ashley and Terry Riley at the fabled Mills College Center For Contemporary Music before graduating into the margins of the '70s bay area new music scene, Ms. Brouk blazed her own trail well outside of the musical establishment to create uncompromising electronic and acoustic work of sleek beauty and primal power. Describing herself as less a composer than a channel, she took her cues from the frequencies of the natural world and the talents of collaborators like Maggi Payne and Bill Maraldo. Hearing Music collects for the first time the deepest cuts from her beguiling and rare cassette releases and her archive of previously unreleased recordings.

Philipp Rumsch, born in 1994, is a composer, pianist, and sound designer from Leipzig, Germany. He was a student at the secondary school „Clara Wieck“, with a special focus on music, and the „Robert Schumann Conservatory“ between 2011 and 2013 and was trained in piano both in classical and popular music as well as in composition. A year later he was  accepted in the junior development program at the Academy of Music and Theatre „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig. Since October 2013, Philipp has been studying jazz piano in Leipzig and spent two semesters studying Music Performance at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen from 2016 to 2017. During his studies he specialized on the fields of composition and sound design/music production.

In his conceptual work he transfers the sound aesthetic and compositional principles of Minimal, Pop and Electronic Music into an acoustic and orchestral format. The debut album of his twelve-person ensemble, „reflections“, will be released in February 2018 on Denovali Records.
