Catz ‘n Dogz ready the next 12” on their vinyl only PETS raw and refined offshoot - STEP. This comes in the follow up to records from A1 Bassline, Eduardo De La Calle, Andre Kronert and the label owners themselves and marks the return Das Komplex who offers up his ‘All For Love’ LP.

Hailing from Koszalin in Poland, Das Komplex is undoubtedly an artist of many talents - a full time Architect by trade, he has released material on Father And Son Records and Tapes label and also offered up the extolled and coveted 6th pressing on the STEP imprint back in August 2015 - a record that sold out rapidly after hitting the shelves. Now - his return marks the first foray into long-play format for STEP and allows Das Komplex to stretch his legs across 8 masterful Disco grooves.

Dżem kicks things off to a sunny start with sizzling guitar licks and softly pattering bongos before the slick Italo-tinged ‘Obelisk’ and the richly atmospheric ‘Redukcja Dysonansu Poznawczego’ follow up. The project spreads out towards the jubilant and dreamy ‘All For Love’ which leads into ‘Brukiew’ - an introverted but ultimately feel-good conclusion that wraps up a beautifully balmy collection and another coup for STEP.

Das Komplex - Obelisk

This is a little tribute to our hero Carlo Pedersoli a.k.a. Bud Spencer and all the discography around his movies: sometimes a little bit cheesy but always fun, sometimes balearic and unexpectedly deep, just talking about a bunch of soundtracks that ruled our childhood with the odd noises from our Bud’s fistfights. This is a Bogus & Kasillen remix of “My name is Zulu” by Oliver Onions aka Guido & Maurizio De Angelis but, as we said, it’s a tribute first than a remix.
We are awfully late with the "grief and go" trend on the web but we are old school producers, people who take their time, in life as in music.

The Mushrooms Project are well known for their sleazy mid-tempo laid-back percussive style, a sound that immediately resonated with rising stars and newly signed label mates Earthboogie.

Specifically it was ‘Dubby Bolas’ from the Italian duo’s 2016 album ‘Rivea Corymbosa’ album that really excited Earthboogie and equally, the Mushrooms were fans of the afro disco sound the Londoners displayed on their debut track ‘Route Ten To Interzone’.

The mutual appreciation led to this remix project which complements their productions styles with great effect.

The French Fred Berthet is not a newcomer in the world of the electronic scene, he is considered a certified veteran in this field. Under his pseudonym Dj Steef he is still one of the best choices with regard to the editions Nu-disco and Down-Tempo. It's the same when he signs under his name his productions Electro and Deep-House .
His formula is simple, in an energetic and deep electronic atmosphere, he works on techniques as subtle as effective. Fred signs the 17th release of the label by delivering an EP composed of 3 tracks, Electro and Modern Deep-House. "Hug Night" sets the tone by broadcasting a subtle electro melody, melancholy and heady. "Duvel Inside" and "En Corps" sees the French producer switch to a more hypnotic style characterized by an evolutive synthesizer sound and amazing pad sounds.

The beaked being returns with the third in the series of Fantast remix EPs, once again offering a collection of dancefloor-focussed reworks from some of his current favourite producers.

The third chapter features reinterpretations from former Trouw resident Patrice Bäumel and Off Recordings mainstay Simion. 

In an album campaign that has already seen remixes from Franky Rizardo, NiCe7, Super Flu, Tensnake, David Penn, Pirupa, Cassius, Lee Foss, Catz N’ Dogz, MK and Lindstrom, Mihalis Safras, Eagles & Butterflies & Prins Thomas, the third EP has maintained the momentum and picked up where the first left off. 

Claptone is a unique proposition in modern music. Painted as a mythical character shrouded in mystery, Claptone has become one of the biggest names in electronic music whilst himself remaining in the shadows. We caught a glimpse of his ambition to produce a body of work in Claptone’s debut artist album 'Charmer' which has scored over 60million streams and counting, but it’s in 'Fantast' that Claptone really delves deeper into the art of songwriting.

Taken from the 4 track vinyl EP on the excellent @notananimalrecords label Japanese producer @que-sakamoto Kamakura is a superb slice of funk heavy slo mo house. Smooth keys and robotic synths come together beautifully to create a chuggin dancefloor jam of the highest order.

A few years ago, Tito Velcro, Elena Hikari and Rare Wiri founder Rayko joined forces in the studio and produced a handful of decidedly Balearic tracks. Now, having sat on Rayko's hard drive for "a few years", they're finally getting a deserved release courtesy of Citizens of Vice. 

"You're Not Alone" is suitably special, with swirling and evocative vocals from Hikari rising above lazy, laidback guitar riffs, dreamy chords, bubbly beats and soft-touch synth sounds, while 'Unforgettable' is a chugging, slow-motion treat that wraps sparkling synth lines and echoing guitars around echoing beats and low-slung bass. 

Rayko provides a slightly more club-friendly nu-disco take on 'You're Not Alone', while Ilya Santana re-imagines the same track as a sparse, sunrise-ready chunk of Balearic electrofunk.
