‘Straight off the back of a fine new EP released just before Xmas and incredible run of shows over Christmas and New Year, Irish techno hero Matador is riding high and is ready to unleash a second EP of weapons on this new release. All the cuts on it have been road-tested to destruction at Timewarp, Lovelands, Awakenings, Verboten, Fabric and many other shows around the world.

Matador’s year started off with a very special ALL LIVE Loveland party celebrating the Amsterdam dance institution’s 20th anniversary and has already clocked up appearances at Fabric in London and Sankeys in Manchester so far this year.

‘BSunday’ kicks the EP off in moody style, with raw analogue lines unfolding over lively drums. Big percussive circles and tripped melodies also flesh out this killer groove. ‘DaHustle’ is then a more groovy thing with nimble bass notes, charming sense of atmosphere and colourful synth patterns running through the arrangement. The arpeggiated bass, when it lands, has sent floors into overdrive at all Matador’s sets of late. 

‘I Gotcha’ takes cues from classic house with its pining cow bells, and the mid tempo drums rock back and forth as dark voices and spraying synths all work to get you shaking your backside. ‘Song 2’ then goes all deep and stripped back, with wooden hits, curious synth patterns and oodles of groaning bass before closer ‘Vagenda’ marries elastic beats and bass with sci-fi melodies, lots of thick texture and warm atmospheres.

Every track here is sure to do a fine job on the dance floor, and each one proves that Matador has many different but equally essential tricks up his sleeve.

Globetrotting DJ and producer Seth Troxler is well and truly back on the beats. Having recently released his first track in years, Evangelion, on Guy Gerber's Rumors imprint, he makes his debut solo on his very own Tuskegee. Launching the label with The Martinez Brothers a year ago, CZ kicks off the fourth release for the label with atmospherics that make way for deep funk grooves that slowly build into a twisted, acid dancefloor stomper. Backed by the rolling Junkyard Tool, Seth's Just Back EP is out on vinyl from 27th April on and digitally from 18th May.

Once again Life and Death presents an assemblage of some of today’s finest artists with a Various Artists release of such high quality that it could have easily stood out as distinct and separate releases. But together these producers and their contributions combine to create something even greater than the sum of their parts. A story assembled from different voices that slowly builds from Sei A’s opening Muladhara-centered “Hyper Venom” and takes off from there, following the path of these musical Mahatmas as they riff on various states of elevation. 

Following Sei-A’s opener is Locked Groove’s shift to the Undenary with “Eleven”, a triumphant score for the everyman’s ascent. From there, the ever adept Scuba comes strong with “Glacial”, a deep track that shifts focus back and forth between both what lies below the surface and what climbs above it. And then, finishing the rise upward is Alex.Do’s expertly woven “Rising” which delivers on the promise that its title offers, never backing down and moving ever onwards and upwards even in its final rising tones.

This time is the turn of our homies Social Kids, with their first solo EP.
Bleeding, first original, is a concentrate of power and darkness, build up for the topic moments of the night. All embellished by the fabolous voice, courtesies of our big friend "Il Cile". A certain success for your set with this one.
Rooftops Store, the second original, is a pumpin' and groovin' weapon, accompanied by a spoken authoritarian voice. breaks are definitely the trump card of this one. You must try it out to understand what i'm saying.
The jam of this EP is anyway the awesome remix of our friend Tiago Fragateiro, owner and mind of Composite Records together with DJ Yellow (that we wants to thanks for the final mixdown of Tiago's remix). Dirty, dark and blowing minds, that's how we wants to describe tiago's remix. A real journey into the deeeeeep, this remix brings out your most hidden passion for music.
