Denise is a native born Chattanoogan involved in the musical community from an early age when she first started singing in church choirs at the age of five, and performed musically at local pageants.  During her college career, her repertoire included performances such as Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha. Denise has travelled to several countries on music tours such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Canada and most recently the cities of Prague, Vienna and Budapest, where she conducted in St. Stephen’s Basilica in Budapest, St. Stephens Church in Vienna and Austria’s Barnabitenkirche. Denise has conducted both graduate and undergraduate choirs at UTC.  She is a member of the Chattanooga Choral Society for preservations of African Music, West African Band “Ogya” of Ghana, and is an independent artist.  Denise possesses an undergraduate degree in vocal music education, and a master’s in music with a concentration in conducting.
