NU SHERIF is a rising talent in the Electronic Dance Music industry. Born and raised in Egypt and spinning from the Red Sea zone of Egypt, NU's love and passion for music started at a very young age thanks to her father who had outstanding taste in music specially for Jazz, Blues and Ambient.
From being glued to her walkman as a kid to traveling around the world to listen to her favorite DJ's spinning, NU has one thing running like blood in her veins: DANCE MUSIC.
Becoming a DJ was always her dream, but being a girl from the Middle East meant that the journey to accomplish her dream was an uphill battle. She was told that DJ'ing is not "a girl's job" in the region and her parents rejected this career choice as it involved constant late nights out. But NU's love for the beats was unstoppable, she pushed back and fought her way for years to make it happen.
Starting her career in 2014, in just six months, she was able to accomplish what many couldn't accomplish after years of training and experience. She taught herself most of the DJing education and referred to expert advice and sessions for the advanced levels. With only a couple of months into the field, she entered Egypt's biggest DJ competition “DJs Got Talent” where she battled against 15 young guys and won second place. At the competition she was spotted by the PACHA Club people who hand picked her amongst the contestants to perform at PACHA Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt - making her the first Egyptian female to DJ at any PACHA club worldwide.
NU's mixes have been featured on Egypt's top radio stations NILE FM and Radio Hits 88.2. She blends between Electronica, Tech House and Techno in her mixes. Inspired by nature, moved by imagination and years of clubbing experience, NU aims to take you on a journey filled with banging beats and sweet melodies infused with emotions and uplifting vocals.
