Galvanize marks the electrifying debut of Duoscience on 4 Jungle Records, and he arrives with the weight and finesse that have made him a cornerstone of Brazilian Drum and Bass. This single offers two tracks that perfectly capture the artist’s sonic duality.

“Fluorescent” is pure pressure: a visceral Roller packed with heavy, saturated basslines, carving through the mix like blades of raw energy on a blazing dancefloor. It’s intense, hypnotic, and built for DJs who want to inject instant fire into their sets.

In contrast, the title track “Galvanize” showcases the more melodic and organic side of Duoscience. Here, he delivers a deep and evocative Liquid Drum and Bass cut—full of lush pads, soulful textures, and that warm, human touch embedded in his signature sound. The Nu:Logic duo return with their combined genius to present a second full-length collaborative effort ‘Somewhere Between The Light’. As two pioneers of the signature Hospital sound, brothers Nu:Tone and Logistics have become influencers and tastemakers in the genre with a deep back-catalogue of smooth, soulful, liquid drum & bass. This 13-track long player soars through the same ethereal movements with a welcomed dip into new territory.

Tracks ‘Somewhere Between The Light’, ‘Side By Side’, ‘Driftwood’ and ‘Red Velvet’ are sure to satisfy the needs of those after classic Hospital rhythms. Heart-wrenching vocals delivered by the likes of Child of Chief, Thomas Oliver and Ed Thomas balance blissful highs with lower register tones. Fitting into their love of feel-good funk and bluesy grooves is ‘Nova’ with subtle horns and bouncing basslines in the mix.

Nu:Logic have one foot firmly in the future with ‘Strut’, featuring fellow Gresham brother Other Echoes and an anti-drop switch up ready to dominate dancefloors world over. ‘Our Nights’, created with prolific multi-genre producers The Nextmen, shakes a half-time stick with a glistening roller feel. Other highbrow match-ups come from LSB in ‘Sepia’ and ‘Pathways’ with singer/songwriter Blake.

Separately and together these two continue on paths to success, with younger brother Logistics reaching BBC Radio 1’s playlist last year following his sixth studio album ‘Electric Sun’. For the last three years Dan Nu:Tone has become a crucial member of the Hospital A+R team, having an influential role in the progression of both up and coming artists and longstanding members of the family. Their DJ dates continue to take them across the globe with sets promised at the 2017 editions of Standon Calling, Mysteryland, Made Festival and the drum & bass baller Hospitality In The Park.

Nu:Tone is a name that automatically populates in a seasoned drum & bass brain upon hearing the words Hospital Records. But Nu:Tone’s first drum and bass release was actually put out in 2001 on John B’s label Beta Recordings after the pair became friends and established the local club night ‘Substance’ in Durham.  On returning to his hometown Cambridge, Nu:Tone met a squad of like-minded musical mates and eventually released the ‘Future Sound of Cambridge’ EP on Hospital in 2004.

With five solo studio albums to boast as well as a wealth of singles, and EP’s, Nu:Tone’s tracks can always be heard across dancefloors and the festival circuit. From his first studio album “Brave Nu World” to third studio album “Words and Pictures” (which was perhaps his most ambitious project) and all before, in-between and after, Nu:Tone’s output always gleans the full support of the wider dance music community’s biggest tastemakers from Annie Mac and Rene La Vice to Toddla T and David Rodigan. Nu:Tone regularly tours Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, confirming his global appeal. 

Nu:Tone can also be heard as part of other collaborative projects, like Nu:Logic, the Hospital Records signed sibling duo of him and Logistics. Or as part of Danism, under which he releases house with great success. Danism’s track “No Limits’ reached number one on the Traxsource chart in 2019 and received DJ support from house royalty Louie Vega, Danny Krivit and Todd Terry. 

Having a keen ear for other people’s music is something that we see from Nu:Tone in a multitude of projects. While working for Hospital as part of the A&R team, he also continues to work as a mastering engineer for Innerground, Spearhead and Soulvent Records. He fondly states an annual highlight for him is the stage he curates with Logistics at Sardinia’s famous Sun & Bass festival each year, and it’s clearly something he enjoys as he’s been back every year since 2003 (except one year when his eldest was born!)
