Proudly presenting her debut album on Hospital Records, SOLAH’s 13-track longplayer ‘King’ is a delicately crafted masterpiece marking a key milestone in her career as a trailblazing singer-songwriter and vocalist. Since embarking on her journey with Hospital Records at the start of 2022, SOLAH has built impressive momentum with her first selection of singles including ‘Everything Is Possible’, ‘Love For Me Too’, ‘Elevate’ and ‘Constant’. Now get ready to delve even deeper into the ever-expanding sound of SOLAH…

Album title track ‘King’ sees SOLAH showcase her signature soulful sonics as she pens heartfelt lyricism and delivers captivating harmonies. With a beautiful meaning behind the track, SOLAH states “the King in this is not me. It’s dedicated to my son and started a lot of the creativity that is on this album.” With Halogenix on the production and the pair boasting an impressive string of collaborations including ‘Out Of Line’, ‘The Night’ and ‘Flames’, this one is yet another future classic from SOLAH as she lays down a loving tribute to her son.

Embracing her R&B influences, ‘Brand New’ is a vibrant bouncer featuring the production of the rapidly up and coming artist Waeys. SOLAH comes through with addictive toplines which float seamlessly above a bubbling bassline and skippy drums. If the sunshine had a soundtrack, this would be it.

On ‘Glorify’ SOLAH’s exquisite musicality and magnetic wordplay strike again. Not afraid of a switch up, she heads into techy territories with an instrumental courtesy of the one and only Enei. Whether it’s home listening or lighting up the dance floor, this deadly drum & bass cut is an indisputable anthem.

The dreamlike ‘Firefly’ is a gorgeously put together liquid drum & bass soother as SOLAH links up with BCee once again. Sombre piano chords and rolling drum work lay the foundations for SOLAH’s angelic melodies to shine through. Becoming quite the pairing, SOLAH & BCee have worked on numerous tracks including ‘Everything Is Possible’ and ‘Fly’ on Hospital Records, ‘Say It Loud’ on Sigma’s ‘BeatsBassLife’ imprint and ‘Spirals’ on BCee’s very own Spearhead Records.

Last and certainly not least, ‘Time’ is a stunning album round-off featuring the heartwarming sprinkles of a gospel choir to inject even more euphoria into the already uplifting melodics and harmonies of the track. Produced by drum & bass newcomer Son, brace yourself for a spine-tingling journey through raw emotion encapsulated into a touching drum & bass ballad.

Other notable album moments include the garage-infused stepper ‘Haven’t You Heard’ with rising duo Tease & Reset on production, and ‘Something To Get Over’ sees a welcomed vocal feature from Manchester’s very own Slay, with Mitekiss on production duties.

It’s already been a huge year for SOLAH as her voice has been dominating the drum & bass circuit and beyond worldwide. London-born producer FD returns to The North Quarter with his new “Lanta Nights EP”, to be released on June 12th. After his masterful debut album “Better Days” - which transcended genres through a richly detailed palette - he now returns with a more compact piece: all killers, no fillers. Drawing influences from Dub, Hip Hop and Soul and mixing them with his London club roots, his growth as an artist and technician is clearly shown on this diverse but signature sounding 5 track EP. Lanta Nights kicks off with two vocal tracks: the first - Lie To You - is a delicate soulful track featuring Akemi Fox,with the second - The Feeling - a 90’s Hip Hop inspired jam featuring KinKai. The EP then dips into rolling Dub inspired science fiction mayhem for the final three tracks. Essential listening. 

“There isn’t a theme here really, because as an artist I find it important to express myself in a wide range of styles” FD explains. “It’s just me trying to put my own spin on what for me are ‘classic’ Drum & Bass fundamentals, expressing them in a contemporary way. I want to try and retain depth and honesty in my music, something that has been important to me in music since I first got into it.”

Nu:Logic is a collaborative partnership between Hospital signings Nu:Tone and Logistics. The two brothers, Dan and Matt Gresham, first joined forces under this new alias in the mid noughties, with the first Nu:Logic release "On & On" appearing on Hospital in 2004. The project went on the back burner until 2010 when they released their "New Technique" EP to great critical acclaim. 

The pair combine the music that they love - music with soul, atmosphere, tension and groove - together into one melting pot of sound. Whilst growing up they were exposed to the same music, but quickly found their tastes diverging. However now they are older, these have moved closer together again and at the core is a shared love of artists such as DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, MoWax, Full Cycle, Heaz, No U Turn, Jazzanova and Calibre.

With nine individual albums between them and their debut Nu:Logic album "What I've Always Waited For" released in 2013 which has been making waves in the D&B scene and beyond, it is now time for their new album "Somewhere Between The Light" which is due out in June this year.
