Highlands Mix (March 2018)

Our second stop of the LF Brasil tour in January was Curitiba. We did not know much about the city before, but we were blown away by the energy at the party, our great local team and our partners @sweetufrecords and @nucleogatopardo. One of the musical highlights of the night was for us the set by @gatha-prado and we are happy that she agreed to make a lovecast for us. This way you can get a little insight into the Curitiba scene and we can keep the beautiful memories from the party alive a little bit longer ;)

Lovecast 53 - Agrabah - LF Brasil Tour 2018

Buzz Boris und Marinelli können einfach nicht anders. Alles, was sie anfassen wird maximal eklektisch. Mit dem ersten Podcast des Jahres dampfen die zwei Schall&Hauch-Residents ihre regelmäßigen Gigs auf dem Neuköllner Heimatdach auf eine gute Stunde Bunt-Gemischtes zusammen: Die Atmosphäre reicht von fröhlich bis düster, von extrovertiert bis nach innen gewandt, von zurückgelehnt bis nach vorne. Stilistisch setzen sich Buzz Boris und Marinelli gar keine Grenzen mehr. Verhangene Slow House-Tunes wechseln sich mit jazzigen Electronica und Disco-Tracks, die den Retrofuturismus feiern, ab. Die gleichermaßen berechtigte wie unbeantwortbare Frage „Was war das denn jetzt?“ kann nur in einem größeren Maßstab geklärt werden: Kommt zu Schall&Hauch und hört euch die lange Version an. Vielleicht macht dann auch alles wieder einen Sinn.

It was about time that we got to host the ah-mazing skilled-selector Angeles Munõz a.k.a. @andshe, the Argentinian DJ currently stablished in Berlin. Here and there delivering coherent mixtapes and also being part of the collectives Kybele (@kybelean) and Seasidetrip (@rolandsons-seasidetrip). 

With a particular background, the 109th edition marks a cycle started one year ago since she left Buenos Aires and reflects her emotion-driven style. Recorded during the weekend of March 10th at AndShe's home in Yorkstrasse, the mixtape is probably a backward-looking summary of feelings and sensations coming from the last year, a mix between gratefulness and positiviness, interconnected by human beings as part of nature, as part in interactions, but also of in-depth knowledge of herself and where is home after all this inner trip.

Meu humilde edit de "mistura de carimbó com ciranda", do Pinduca. O carimbó é um ritmo musical amazônico e também uma dança de roda de origem indígena, típica da região norte do estado do Pará (Brasil), influenciado por negros e portugueses. O nome também se aplica ao tambor utilizado nesse estilo musical, chamado de "curimbó".

My humble edit of "mistura de carimbó com ciranda", from Pinduca. Carimbó is an Amazonian musical rythm and also a dance circle with indigenous origins, typical from North Pará State region (Brazil). It is influenced by Afro-Brazilians and Portugueses . The name also applies for the drum used in this style, named "curimbó".

original track by Ilê Aiye and Virgina Rodrigues. Ilê Aiyê is one of the oldest Afro Carnaval parades that happen in Salvador since 1974(Bahia - Brazil) this is an edit of a version with soulful voice by Viriginia Rodrigues, one of my favorite singers from Brazil.
