Lagu ini dikerjakan sebagai sebuah surat; sebagai catatan kerinduan; sebagai doa, yang ditujukan untuk semua Ayah yang telah mendahului. Sebuah keikhlasan. Bukan ratapan. Meminjam tempat di mana Ayah dari personel Jalan Pulang (Agung) beristirahat, Pulau Laut, dijadikan sebagai judul.
