"Amazing Grace, How Sweet The Sound, that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind, but now I see!"

These few lines of the old familiar hymn Amazing Grace, has always been the thing that has been instilled in Yatasha's mind and heart since the day that she came onto this earth. Her faith in God has been tested and tried many times by outside opposition, it sometimes faltered, and waved in the wind, but she always knew how to come back to what she was taught after all of the mess and the drama. Her family kept her going and grounded when she felt that her back was against the wall and everyone was out to get her and make her seem like a bad person. Singing is a gift that she knows she has been blessed with ever since she could even remember how to talk.

Yatasha was born on November 9, 1984 in Tifton, Georgia. In all actuality, her name was supposed to be Yatashe' after the little girl from Africa in the movie "The Color Purple", but her aunt thought that her mother Sandra S. Wallace, spelled Yatasha's name incorrectly thus retaining her name. She grew up in a single parent home right next door to her grandparents in Ty Ty, thus resulting in Yatasha being an avid outdoor type of girl where she learned to clip hedges, cut grass, and rake up leaves, and pine straw along with playing with her neighborhood friends. 

Yatasha started singing in the church at the age of 5 and as she grew, the more churches she sang in and wowed the people of those churches with the strength of the voice coming from someone who was so small. At the age of 15, she lost one of the main people in her life that meant the sun, moon, and the stars to her. She lost her beloved "Papa." Her Papa taught her everything she knew about how to take care of grass, rake straw, trim hedges, and make the yards look emaculate. She delved into her poetry and didn't look into her singing. As time went on, she lost two more people in her life who meant the world to her, during the same spread of year, she left the musical side of herself alone and just did things like watch television and just go to church and not sing, smothering the gift that she had inside of her. In 2002, she made the decision to sign the dotted line and commit herself and her life to the military as an honor to her favorite uncle "Baby Louis." He was one of the biggest influences for her to go into the military after his untimely death by the hands of a drunk driver. 

Later on, Yatasha found herself feeling alone and she returned to her music and started to once again, pick up her pen and paper to start capturing her emotions on paper once more. In 2008, she was blessed with a son who became the light of her life and her motivation to continue to write music. She took a tour overseas in 2010 until 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation New Dawn. And now lately more than ever, she is continuing to press her way through to make her music great. 

Yatasha is now more determined to get into the hearts of the people with her new single "From A Tomboy, To A Young Lady" She hopes that she can win the hearts of the people to at least help someone that is hurting from some type of hurt or heartbreak know that there is no one greater than God and that All things are possible through him.
