About:
Nvsty Militia is made up by the hip hop, R’N’B duo “Anesu Matanhire” (21 years) and “Taffy Dzimano” (23 years). Anesu immigrated to AUS from Zimbabwe (Mutare) in 2005, and Taffy from Zimbabwe (Marondera) in 1999. The boys discussed their sonic careers and formed their duo over a lunch dialogue in Chinatown, and their debut single ‘Lit’ soon followed. Whilst their original sound has been rooted in hip hop / trap, they’ve sonically pivoted into a more sophisticated blend of caribbean and R’N’B influences, with an underlay of deep, dark beats. Nvsty are now currently working on their brand new EP “Nvsty Militia: Enemies of Progress”, which is releasing under OUT.LI.ER Records (USA) pre Christmas, 2019.
Their track, ‘Lit’ received constant rotation by Triple J Unearthed: The boys were on the ‘Unearthed’ charts and ‘Artist Spotlight’ playlists for weeks. ‘Lit’ was also featured on Ryan Reynolds interview for “Deadpool” and picked up by ABC’s Television show, “Deadlock”. Nvsty have since carved a name for themselves, and an underground following in the hip hop scene of AUS. The boys have worked with French Maximus MMC & FAB, Okami (AUS), HFNR (AUS), and CashMoneyAP (USA).
Throughout 2016 - 2018, Nvsty supported several big name artists, such as ALLDAY (AUS), Spit Syndicate (AUS), Elliphant (Sweden), Lunice (Canada), KLP (AUS) Jackson, Jacko, Shammi & Alex Hayes (AUS based YouTube Stars/Influencers) to name a few. Nvsty were the recent opening act for Carmouflage Rose’s Adelaide show (Sept, 2019) and they’re performing live at Rubix Warehouse in Melbourne (Oct, 2019). Nvsty recently placed their brand new debut single, ‘Options’ (releasing under OUT.LI.ER Records) with the South Australian Tourism Commission in a national synch deal. Nvsty have received praise from Complex AU, Radio Adelaide, Semplesize, Yewth Mag, AU Review, The Bakehouse, FBI Radio (Sydney Hip Hop & R&B Station); Fresh 92.7 and Hit 107. The boys also went on their first tour performing two packed out shows in Melbourne and headlining a show for ‘Red Bull Music Academy, 2017’ at Sugar Nightclub.
