Fighting off your latest regrets
Whats the lack of patience?

Option out your day for wasting time or being something less.

Cuz everything's a re-do.
From practice to the final run through.

And what? Oh god! Sometimes it's over my head!
No. Stop. "Catch your breath" they said.
And all the kids are home asleep in their beds
Waiting for mom to come feel their heads
and I'm convinced that everyone who hears a sound will tell a 
different story and relax until their feet hit the ground
And more so now than ever everything I do is making less 
and less an impact on anything and to think
it's only what I made it to be.
If your walking around the streets won't you stop and tell me that
your art form is just another form of shit that you can't really 
smell till your swimming in it and you're not original. Not a bit.

And when you wake up can you still tell me "did I dream well? Did I 
dream of singing loud or screaming, falling to the ground? 
Did I ever make a single sound?
And I thought you weren't supposed to judge.
I thought it didn't mean that much.
Thought it was all for someone else.
Who told you I could do this?
I thought it wasn't a well known fact.
Well would you look at the stats?

And tell me this ain't over.
Don't tell me love is the worst of times.
Where passionate finds are overshadowed by simple rhymes.
And maybe that's just how it'll go
What's the use fighting what you can't solve?
If we all just back off for a while maybe we'll evolve.

Now I'll just see what I can do
Maybe it's not what I wish was you
But it's not bad.
I've got at least one behind me
And a few under my belt
Have you ever stolen before just to see how it felt?

And when it sickens your heart turn around, repeat 
tell yourself "it won't happen to me again"

I can't fight a battle in these shoes.
Can't make a point when chasing somebody elses dues.
And when you find a fault in this game 
I guess I don't know shame. No I don't.

You truly are a dog if you can't avoid but chase your tail like this.
Can't you choke up on the target or fucking try again if you miss?
I'm hoping to see progress. Don't leave me drying out with failures.

A demo that probably won't get the full band treatment.  So here it is.

Growing farther now with every night camped out under canopies obscuring stars through shaky leaves that shiver in the summer wind

I've met a newer face. A nicer smile.
Her laughter turns me into a child.
It makes me sad. It drives me wild.
The love I feel, It always comes so *mildly at the start of it all.
