"Developing my debut single has been quite a journey of its own. I initially made the whole song with Dylan Tallchief at his place in the Netherlands, with me writing the track and him doing the production side of it. Later I replaced pretty much all sounds except for the main melody. Since I was doing production sessions with Rome In Silver at the time too, he advised me on some additional production aspects. Because of a stressful exam season in January I sent it over to my friend Shwirl to add some more 'flair' to it. My goal was to re-create the feeling of being in nature when everything blossoms during spring-time. While everything looks pretty and the weather is warmer, it has always been a sort of nostalgic time for me somehow. Because we've been alone more than ever during this crazy corona situation, I want all of you to remember that we'll all flourish once again."

"drowning", a collaboration between nxt. and Dust of Apollon.

Me and Bruno made this song in 5 days during lockdown of last year, so I’m so so so happy to say that after 1.5 years this track is finally out via @lowlypalace.

From a submission for a little beat competition on the @duskus discord server, to being finalists in the ESL One music competition, me and Bruno are proud to have finally found a perfect home for this song on @lowlypalace.

“Drowning” is about the battle with your inner state of mind, and coming to terms with the reality of change. The final verse embraces the fact that you have found your distinct path of life and cleared memories of the past.

My methodology in making music that is both familiar in structure but unique in terms of sounds very much aligned with @dustofapollon and is perhaps why we were able to produce it so quickly. Of course, I have to give him credit for his incredible vocals, as it wouldn’t be the same song without them!

Thank you for listening and I hope when you experience “drowning”, that you remember that you should be proud of what you have endured thus far. It’s okay to feel like you’re drowning sometimes and it is how we grow and better ourselves at the end of the day, right? :)
