NYA @ NXTLVL 🔊 Escape The Ordinary 🌿 w/ UNKNOWN CONCEPT & JEDIDIAH | 18.3.2023, Mauritius

At this year's Kosmos Kuriosum Festival I played the closing set at the Kosmos floor on Sunday from 8am till noon 😁☀️🖤🪐🔥

taking over from a DJ duo that finished their set at 110 bpm I decided to start with a more ambient vibe, slowly taking the dancefloor on one of my weird journeys 👾👽💫

The timeslot gave me a lot of freedom to explore and improvise, diving through different genres and bpm ranges and I had a lot of fun while playing 🙂 

Thanks to all the motivated dancers that came by for a little boogie or stayed until the end! 💖 And thanks to the Kosmos Kuriosum Team for inviting me again to this little wonderland that encourages to create in a different way 🥰🙏

Year after year, it's incredible to experience what can be achieved with the best festival crew imaginable in such a magical place. Stadtflucht truly has everything you need to feel like you're in paradise – and that's all thanks to the passion and dedication from everyone involved, as well as the amazing atmosphere created by all the wonderful people who attend. It's a festival made by friends, for friends, to make even more friends :)

The highlight for us this year was undoubtedly the invitation to close the outdoor floor on Saturday together from 8 to 10pm, just as the sun was setting. As dark technoid cave dwellers who usually play towards the end of the night, we were both thrilled and a bit challenged at first, thinking hard about what to play for such an amazing slot. Thank you so much for your trust – it means the world to us! <3

From the first second to the last beat, we had the best time. Without getting too sentimental (though we could go on for hours), we're excited to share that the recording we thought was lost has finally resurfaced - enjoy the ride!!!

Sonja aka Nya Nyx found herself behind the turntables first in 2017 after she had already been exploring the electronic music realm for more than a decade. Her style can best be described as Psytechno: a variety of dark, minimal and progressive Techno packed with psychedelic soundscapes, bouncy grooves, hypnotising basslines and just the right amount of crazy. In a constant state of evolution Nya Nyx combines these elements in a new way with every set and ensures an intense and poignant vibe in front of the sound system. She joined Padang Records as a label DJ and is also working on her own productions-so keep an eye out on her upcoming gigs and releases.

What remains when everything else fades? When time and space dissolve, voices drift away on the warm summer breeze, and all that lingers is the echo of music in the air? Sometimes, there are places that exist in between - neither here nor there. Where the line between dream and reality blurs. Here, music shimmers in the night air, blending with the scent of a bonfire. Voices disappear, carried away by laughter and flickering candlelight. Beneath ancient beams, time dances, while outside, the tall grass sways to the rhythm of our stories.
Maybe this is what remains: the tingle on your skin when the bass vibrates. Or the crackling of the fire, where strangers turn into friends. Maybe it's the moment when you dance barefoot on soft grass, kissed by the warmth of the sun.
Everything fades. The days we count. The thoughts we try to hold on to. The world out there, spinning at a breathless pace. But here, between glimmering lights and dark treetops, between pulsing beats and quiet conversations, everything can pause for just a moment.
