On the journey is a song that represents my "journey" back to myself. By taking time to pray, I recognized and invoked the presence of the most high in my life. This song will take listeners through my journey and help guide their own. This song took time to manifest in this form. Writing and production were done by Island Reign Records, and the mixing and mastering by PD3 music.

Born Real

Nyck Muzik was born in Seaview Gardens, St. Andrew, Jamaica, on October 15, 1991. Shortly after, due to prevalent violence in the area, his mother moved the family to Discovery Bay, St. Ann, Jamaica. He went to local school in the area before attending York Castle High School in Brown's Town, St Ann. While attending high school, he picked a passion for entertainment, which manifested in dancehall music and daning. After high-school, he attended Brown's Town community College, 2 years for an associate degree in engineering sciences, then the University of Technology intent on pursuing electrical engineering, where he stayed one year, before Migrating to the United States. He moved around the tri state and Massachusetts before setting down in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After taking a few years to settle down, he rekindled his passion for dancehall, becoming an MC(selector) for the first Dj Duce One, then Dj Ice. In 2016, he met Shotta Claude, a producer who helped him nuture his talent as a dancehall songwriter/performer, resulting in "Born Real: the prelude." Focused on making and impact on the industry with a unique sound and energy. Since then, Nyck has dropped two volumes of the "Sanguine Medz" EP and the "Shakin off da Rust" mixtape. Nyck's new single "On the Journey" (Out 02.16.2024) is a return to his Dancehall roots.
