Actually the first song Norty & I did - initially I wrote this drop for a Mercedes AMG commercial spot that never worked out. Thought it was hot enough to deserve its own song!

Just A Ghost ft. Norty

“Not You” is a one-off single collaboration between 25 year old Detroit producer/songwriter Nydge (Nigel Van Hemmye) and Columbus artist Effee (Fran Litterski). Describing the anxieties and doubts approaching a culminating romantic entanglement, “Not You” is an unencumbered pop anthem dedicated to one of the most common fears of getting close to someone. For both Nydge & Effee, the song hits close to their respective homes: “I’m always second guessing myself emotionally,” describes Nydge. “Building trust involves breaking down so many walls and sometimes those walls have been up for such a long time you wonder if they can ever come down.” Effee muses that it’s about the enormity of sharing yourself with another person. “You get so used to being this singular being that the minute anyone disrupts that, whether for better or for worse, it can be completely terrifying.” Simple and unapologetic, this is a song you could dance to at a party or cry to by yourself at 4am. Written, recorded and produced in its entirety at Assemble Sound in Detroit, MI.

Not You Podcast

Here's a song I'm releasing to celebrate my first tour, which started yesterday. Conveniently, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers started their national tour this week as well. Neither of those things will matter to you if you are listening to this song six months from now, but whatever. 

I loved working on this one. We had some help from the brass section of Busty and the Bass. 

“Float” is an expression of the beautiful escape a shared moment of love can provide, in memory, longing or the present.
