UUMPHFF label is back with the release of the single ‘omen indeed’ by abji_hypersun

it’s their first official single since “doset daram (midooni?)” released 2021.
omen indeed exists in many different versions, as they say: “everytime i play live, i play it in a new way, sometimes it even feels like it’s the only song i ever made. so wierd to bounce it out and look at it as this linear progression with a beginning and an end - when actually it’s not.”
It’s a song about magical thinking and love and the hook is more like a chant or a sample traveling through different eras in time. The song will probably be transitioning and evolving forever, and we are happy to present a snapshot of it to you, omen indeed 2023.

abji_hypersun is the moniker of Simin Stine Ramezanali, a visual artist and drummer, who is based in Copenhagen. Known from the trio SLIM0 and co-founder of the music platform and label UUMPHFF-music. 
abji_hypersun mixes fragments of d’n’b, breaks, shoe-gaze and narrative story-telling. Untuning Persian classical instruments, multiple voices and beats they move in between feelings of beauty, the funny, the scary, the loud (something in between nightmares and dreams). Through this, they tour the notion of sounds out of tune.
 
Their music has extracts tropes drawn from the operatic and theatrical. New interpretations of the love song, hyper-gratitude, anger and mourning XXL are central subjects in their composition and lyrics.
 
This experimental approach in composition comes from a drive for giving life a soundtrack, and a belief in music being the most precise language to use for this.

METAL PREYERS: THE PREYING WELL (preview)

27 Year old Menzi Shabane from the Umlazi township of Durban South Africa was one of the early pioneers of the cities now world famous Gqom scene, having rose to prominence as one half of the Infamous Boiz. In the last few years Menzi has produced for many of South Africa's biggest acts like Babes Wodumo, Moonchild Sanelly, Mahotella Queens, Zolani Mahola and Zakes Bantwini. For the last few years has also been organizing Durban's largest annual Goqm Bloq Party called Festive Road Block Umlazi.

Impazamo presents his debut release. A six track ep that explores his signature dark left field gqom productions that have been rocking Durban nightclubs over the past few years. Over the years he has crafted a unique sound exploring Gqoms textures within different arrangements from the genres usual track structure. The ep also includes a collaboration with Uganda MC Ecko Bazz with the track GQOM Tera.


All tracks recorded between 2019 - 2020 in Umlazi Durban and Boutiq Studios Kampala, Uganda.
