"Underwater" started off as just a simple VST patch during the production phase, then turned into a classic R&B ballad, a wave of nostalgia that compares relationships to the feeling of being underwater. Nylez K and FARA both demonstrate this sentiment through their combination of melodic harmonization and whole hearted lyrics. To convey the sense of drowning in a relationship or being saved by one, the hardships one can face by being in love, or to be suffocated by the responsibilities we can sometimes fade in to. Nylez K creates dark tones, light reverbs, trap infused drums to give it a modern day sound, and with the assist of David Ganitano playing guitar setting a reminiscent vibe all throughout the record. With the finishing touches added by JUNO nominated engineer Jamie Kuse who lifts this track and brings dynamic clarity through the mixing and mastering phase putting this song up at its pedestal. This is the first collaboration between the two artists Nylez K and FARA, both representing Vancouver, Canada, working in the heart of IR1 Studios, they plan to release a music video alongside with many more surprises on the way.

Underwater (Feat. FARA)

The journey of NYLEZ K begins in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia. Neil K Pranjivan was born into a family who had an obsession for music, but it was the impact of his father who inspired him to become a male vocalist. By inheriting the sounds of bollywood music at a very young age it taught him how to expand his kaleidoscopic range of emotion and depth that he uses in his music today.

Using YouTube’s platform catapulted Neil from making covers in his own bedroom, to redefining himself as an artist, and becoming NYLEZ K. In order to achieve this, he decided not to continue his mundane studies as an accountant, instead learned how to create music from the ground up. Inspired by the likes of Drake and The Weeknd he connects with his audience through the use of dark tones and trap rhythm, swaying them with harmonious melodies, and engaging them with his dynamic lyrical flow. 2018 is where he exemplified this work by the release of his first single “2Myself” followed by “Remind Me” later that year and headlining his own show downtown Vancouver in 2019.

Entering the next phase as a refined producer, singer-songwriter, and engineer, NYLEZ K is ready embark on a new journey, to show his true potential.
