Just in case anyone’s bored, here are my own notes from production as they were up until I turned this track to public on a whim:

Future Plans:
- Add some form of beat or percussion in places (where suitable)- Input very much appreciated
- Add a little more 'movement' or like a saw-tooth-shaped intensity wave in the boys' choir part to support the energy in the song
- Possibly add some form of harmony here and there
- Improve outro
- Optimize mix and master

Known Issues:
- A few filter-frequency-"clicks"  in the vocal line - will need to see if those were in source material or introduced later
- Pitch-shifted filtered background vocal FX is currently incorrectly functioning; the pitch needs to be lower there.

Change Overview:
- Raised 'Heartbeat' in volume (2-3db)
- Added Choir part to verse & chorus
- Added string part to chorus
- Did panning detail work on the bells
- Extended Outro inc. pitch-shifted vocal detail
- Wrote Piano performance to play during build-up (may be changed to sound more coherent & match the vibe)
- Did extensive work on stereo imaging throughout pads
- Did detail work on strings, choir, and pads (filters, reverb mix etc).
- Re-made previously lost changes (due to corrupt project file)
- Exported in 32-bit floating point .wav

Change Overview for older version (10):
- Added subtle noise FX
- Added 'heartbeat' during build-up
- Increased Vox gain from buildup onward to keep it front and center in the mix throughout the song

Change Overview for older version (9):
- Now includes a boys choir during the build-up before the last chorus
- Minor fixes to clicks in the lead vocal recording; still work left to do

Change Overview for older version (8):
Now includes strings.

Change Overview for older version (7.1):
Fixed the distortion issue during first 20 seconds;Recovered 10 hours of work from corrupted save.

A string line / part may be included in the future. First string accents during post-chorus for chorus 2; then a violin solo in an extended break, maybe, and adding in a subtle string ensemble during the build-up. That's the idea, at least.

Older change Overview:
- Extended breakdown by 8 bars
- Added automated filtering on one of the synths to make the intro, bridge, build-up & outro flow better
- Various mixing changes (compression, panning & stereo imaging)
- Removed a short portion of one of the background vocal tracks as it did not fit the atmosphere during those 4 bars
- Re-balanced the instruments with the vocals

Emmy Law - Never Been The One (Nymos' Cinematic Remix)

Dear friends,

First of all, thank you all for your everlasting patience.

This track is not a new production. I first worked on it, and nearly completed it back in 2012; unfortunately I then lost the project file due to a disk failure. 

As such, the song has been gathering dust ever since, and even though I did all I could to touch it up a bit in 2020 (based on just the master track); this is all there was left to do.

I've now decided to release it to you all, since I figure it's worth sharing.

Unfortunately I do not know the name of the lovely person who posted an acapella cover of the original song on Youtube, some 15 years back; and my efforts to find her have been fruitless thus far. So- should you know where I've sampled these vox from, please do tell me so I can credit her as she deserves.

More material coming up- I'm really trying to get over my dysfunctional level of perfectionism when it comes to my original work, but music is still on my mind and I'd want nothing more than to keep sharing the love.
