Inspired by late-night on-air disco mixes, disrupted and intercut by frequency glitches and jingle intermissions, "STUDIO 1OO MIX" is a hommage to local Ionian broadcasting station Studio 100. A carrousel of raw cosmic disco treats and Italian funky gems, carefully selected for your pleasure by o! michello!

AQUAFREDDA is the newest soul of retro funk and disco of Gabriele Acquafredda. 
Born in southern Italy in 2000, Gabriele grew up playing trumpet and bass before diving into electronic music production at just 13.
He first made some noise as KIDO, releasing his debut EP in 2018 on Nameless Records, working with worldwide artists like Not For Us (now Tananai), Drew Harvey, and Laura Sjin. In 2020, his remix of Kharfi’s "Don't Waste My Time" (released via Ego Music) marked a turning point, as he shifted from EDM to the grooves of the '70s and '80s.
In 2022, he introduced AQUAFREDDA, a project dripping with vintage vibes, releasing his new EP "Mr. Groove" via Bauxite Label. Now, with his 2025 release "Get Back Home EP" on The Sleepers Recordz — preceded by the singles "Is This Fire" and "Back To You" on a limited edition 7" vinyl — AQUAFREDDA blends R&B, Disco, and Nu-Funk into a fresh, timeless sound. The EP features collaborations with Apulian talents like Gaia Voice, Ronin, and Raphael Camardella, recreating vintage vibes and giving new life to funk and disco music.

Born in the year 2000 on the shores of the Ionian sea, o! michello! is a DJ presenting a schizophrenic selection of disco, wave, cosmic funk, and synth-pop from the five continents. He has a particular taste for groovy weirdness and tribal rhythms, following that thread that connects Tom Tom Club to Jo Squillo, Southern Italy to South Africa, and so on.

Meet the founder  - Cornetta

Born and raised in Bari, Italy.
Cornetta, mostly known as Silvia, has been very passionate about the electronic music scene since the age of 12, when she discovered her first favourite CD, Melody A.M by Röyksopp. Since then, she has explored a plethora of artists which still to this day have a massive influence on her music taste. At a young age and in her early teens Cornetta became obsessed with the music produced by Aphex Twin, μ-Ziq Luke Vibert, Plaid, Autechere and Plastikman, to mention only a few.
Around the age of 16, Cornetta was attending regularly both private and organised parties in Puglia and became more fond of Minimal Techno. As soon as she reached the legal age, Cornetta would put aside her pocket money and book cheap flights and accommodation to travel to festivals in Germany, when this was a lot more affordable to do. She became very inspired by the music and selection of artists such as Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Jeff Mills, Ellen Allien, Monika Kruse, Miss Kittin and Miss Djax.
Cornetta has also dived into the free party scene in Puglia, which was at the time  fairly detached and separated from the Techno scene. Here, she became also intrigued by the sound of Dub, Reggae and the heavier bass of French Tek, which to these days continue to influence her selection.
Cornetta moved to Scotland in her early 20s and after meeting one of her closest friend to these days, Acid Boner, she approached the subcultural field and scend in Scotland. 

Cornetta started record digging and collecting Vinyls from the Ska Reggae and Mod subcultural movement with Dan and the pair would regularly attend record stores with their close group of friends to dig more music.
 
Cornetta moved to Scotland in her early 20s and after meeting one of her closest friend to these days, Acid Boner, she approached the subcultural field and scene in Scotland. In the meantime, Cornetta also attended different electronic music events across Scotland and fell in love with the local scene. She became a regular attendee and supporter of the Acid Boner nights, where she met other fellow electronic music aficionados.


Cornetta has also been studying Guitar since the age of 12 and continues to keep in parallel a great passion for indie rock music, folk and Bossanova, continuing to balance practice both on the turntables and the fretboard.
Following the Pandemic, it was felt that the local party scene experienced fair challenges and the nightlife had unavailably a negative hit in her local town of Aberdeen. With her own initiative and with the greay help of her friends and partner, Cornetta has launched last year her own parties in Aberdeen which were received really well, seeing quickly a contained crew of regular attendees.

The Danza Catartica Project emerged from a need to define a specific type of sound, reconnect to its subcultural roots and sense of community and involve artists that resonate with the sound and ethos.
