O*RS are proud to release „HERON“, the first album by newcomer duo Heron from Leipzig. On their debut LP Heron tap into Synthwave with hints of Pop. The introspective lyrics elevate the 80s-like soundscape to an immersive listening experience. Producer Tino Kulisch and singer/writer Birthe Kleemann have been working on this project for quite a while now. Both of them are multitalented musicians who were involved in several band projects before forming Heron. We are very happy they came together and gave us their album „HERON“.

Already an accomplished composer and producer, crafting music and soundscapes for film and television, Gensi AKA András Genser deploys a trio of smooth and inspiriting cuts on the ‘Primavera 707’ EP.  The title track gets the remix rub from British brothers Decius.

‘Primavera 707’ is tinged with a gloss and sheen, and a pop edge, that stays on the right side of classy.  Heavenly melodies skit around an effervescent vocal, as Gensi distributes bubbly acid lines and expansive synths that elegantly crescendo.

Decius stamp their rugged sound onto the remix of ‘Primavera 707’, having impressed via releases on their own Decius Trax imprint.  Chugging drums and bags of mechanical funk are plugged into this re-rub, as the vocal gets pulverized, and a dark & sleazy tone is forged.

Further explorations into acid are mined on ‘Humble Brush’, as the wiggly worm forages around energizing chords and weighty drums, whilst ‘The Great Body Buzz’ glides across the cosmos with booming 808 beats and intergalactic electronics.

@bezier returns to @darkentriesrecords with his new EP "Valencia",  a six track rumination on memory, geography, and transmutation. On "Valencia¨, Bézier invokes twinned places. The Valencia Street of San Francisco is channeled, which was the center of the city’s vibrant new wave scene in the 1980s. But also echoed is Valencia, Spain, and La Ruta del Bakalao aka La Ruta Destroy, the Spanish clubbing scene throughout the 80s and 90s famed for its aggressive and synthetic sounds. 
"Valencia" is a darker record for Yang, exploring themes of submission and catharsis with nods to SF’s gay leather bars of the 70s and 80s.  Take a ride with the the anthemic “Reservoir”, which features their partner Len.Leo on vocals.

O*RS are delighted to share „This Is My Beginning“, the first single by newcomer duo Heron from Leipzig. Their debut album „one“ is set to be released beginning of next year. 
Consisting of producer Tino Kulisch and singer/writer Birthe Kleemann, Heron have been quietly recording their album for the past 1,5 years. Both of them have been playing together in several bands for a long time but with Heron they exclusively join forces as a duo. Heron’s sound resembles 80s Synthwave and sits between dance floor euphoria and introspective listening. 
„This Is My Beginning“ feels like leaving a neon-illuminated city behind at night as you take the highway to an uncertain future. The lyrics deal with the unstoppable movement of water - how it slowly ascends until it finally breaches the shore. Heron’s debut single is about something inside you bottling up until you decide that is time for a departure and a new beginning. 
„This Is My Beginning will be released on all digital platforms on November 4th.

Hamburg’s Polycarp Records delivers the ‘Never Ever’ EP by Bonn this January, backed with remixes from Johannes Albert and The Cruiser. 

The Polycarp Records imprint was launched in 2016 by Simon Ferdinand and across its past ten releases has unveiled an array of material from the likes of Pleasant Systems boss Tilman, Frank Music founder Johannes Albert and Simon Ferdinand and Basch both under their own artist names and of course their collaborative project, Bonn. In 2019 Ferdinand and Basch inaugurated their Bonn guise with a debut album entitled ‘Forget Forgot Forgotten’, 2021 saw the release of a follow up EP entitled ‘Ravenous’ and here the story continues with the pair’s latest collaborative works.

‘Phero’ opens the flip side and sees Bonn deliver a twitchy house workout fuelled by fidgety synth bleeps, dubbed out chords and bumpy, saturated drums.

Never Ever EP is already out on vinyl and will be available digital on January 23 via Polycarp Records

"Together We Feel" describes the feeling of weightless dancing, blind trust in the disco lights and the interplay of two souls that stand on their own. Driven as usual by the rhythm of the eighties and accompanied by soulful sound elements, the song itself invites you to close your eyes and dance.

Lazy Snail’s Lucky Life EP was originally released in December 2022. Thereby the five-tracker explores the different sounds and esthetics of electronic music delivering valuable cuts with a downtempo note. Now, almost six months later, Lucky Life gets a second life as the EP is remixed by five different artist, each sprinkling their magic on the tracks. Angelo Battilani took on remix-duties for the former EP-opener Remercier, turning the original into a club-oriented stomper that tries out or rather fuses electronica with House music. Keeping the melodic momentum of the original Battilani understands to speed up the tempo to achieve a sound-sequence madness that explores the deepness of fulfillment as if beats in space finally sound.

Lazy Snail’s Lucky Life Remixed will be released on Flexi Cuts on May 9th, 2023.

Echocord welcomes the return of Mathimidori to the imprint with his ‘Anata’ EP, accompanied by a remix from New Yorker and Novel Sound boss Levon Vincent.
Mathimidori is the dub techno leaning guise of Germany’s Mathias Kaden, known for his works under his own name on imprints such as REKIDS, Ovum and Freude Am Tanzen, while Mathimidori material has found a home on the likes of Mule Musiq, Raum, Ornaments and of course Echocord where he returns here following 2020’s ‘Akebono’ LP.
Opening the release is ‘Anata’, a texturally dense six-and-a-half-minute composition fusing pulsating subs, billowing synth atmospherics, spiralling dub echoes and sporadic dubbed out spoken word running atop a crisp 4/4 rhythm. ‘Zanziba’ follows and dives deeper via ethereal pads, snaking low-end pulsations, choppy stab sequences and heavily echoing reggae chants.
Levon Vincent steps up to remix ‘Zanziba’ next, delivering a typically raw and dynamic rework, upping the energy levels as dub stabs dynamically unfold and retract amongst a thunderous low-end drive, intricate synth flutters and low-slung drums across its ten minute duration.
