Exclusive: Damiano von Erckert - Pete

With his second full EP on Will Saul's Aus Music label, Damiano von Erckert rings in a housey summer with a partly imaginated vision of opened clubs and a reality that mostly belies these expectations. However, DvE's latest three tracker Pete is meant to be for the floors – as the artist himself visualized this surrounding when producing the tracks – and is dedicated to all those people filling the latter with joy and happiness. The EP's title track Pete is an uplifting almost mental or cosmic House take, which has a tremendous and intriguing groove which is later on in the track even more supported by a vocal that it has the momentum on its side. After his remix for Cinthie's City Lights, Pete (maybe a shout out to Mr. Tong?) itself musically follows in the steps of the artist's contribution Hideaway to the Live At Robert Johnson compilation Lifesaver Vol. 4, which was out at the end of last year – just with a slightly more dreamy and summer-ish note and probably Damiano's gift to a clear blue sky.

The new 10 inch SuperSingle 160 by O*RS takes us back on a journey through time without suffering a loss of modern or contemporary sound. With "BodyTalk" the Berlin based female producer PEREL creates a future house classic featuring no less than Abba Lang. Lang, who lives in Berlin but originally comes from Uganda, not only ads his voice to the original track but creates a delicate Hip Hop rhythm while reciting - and harmonizes perfectly with PERELs vocals and the sound of the track. "This Love", the second track featured on the limited SuperSingle is a House tune which has it all: love for detail, funky grooves and extravaganza. O*RS 10inch 160 - one record, five tracks and a perfect fusion of House and Hip Hop.
The black gold will also be available in digital form. Besides the two original tracks O*RS offers two fantastic remixes as well as a dub version of "Body Talk" as a digital bonus. The "Dubson Booty Remix" teases out the sound of the 90s and pushes "Body Talk" skillfully into 2014. Nico Bulla's interpretation is fresh and different. The lowered baseline add another dimension to the original track and so creates a unique character of sound. How could it be different, the dub version perfectly enraptures the sound of the original. It emphasizes all the Hip Hop elements in a typical dub manner and produces a first class symbiosis of House and Hip Hop.
