Monument Festival 2021: Marco Shuttle

In this dystopian, clear future, the ancient realms have been left behind as society has progressed into a more technologically advanced age. However, the remnants of the past still linger, imbued with psychedelic energy that occasionally bubbles to the surface. The cities are sleek and gleaming, but beneath their shiny exterior, there is a sense of unease and decay. People live in fear of the unpredictable forces of the past, never quite sure when they will erupt and disrupt the carefully constructed order of their world. Despite the advanced technology, many long for the simplicity of the ancient realms, where the power of the psychedelic energy was harnessed and respected rather than feared and suppressed.

Vako T is a local techno force originally from the Black Sea coastal city of Batumi, whose subliminal sets have been a fail-safe party starter for over two decades. Full of feel-good tempos and bolstered by his agile mixing abilities, his trademark explorations and personal cuts manifest a unique grain of electronic mastery that doffs its cap to a broad sonic palette and delivers an energy stood firmly in the camp of bullish and crowd-pleasing techno. For this 60th episode, we invited the talented producer Caldera who enlights us with a very beautiful and deep mix.
If you don't know him yet; since 2012, Caldera has been creating a unique and personal blend of Techno and Bass music with a love for detail and a dedicated sounddesign that immerses listeners into imaginary worlds.
His experiments with drums and rhythms result in grooves that explore a deeper side of dance music while leaving bpm and genre restrictions behind.
Caldera's creations have found a home on labels such as Berlin's Nummer Music, Chicago's Kimochi Sound and Bristol's Pressure Dome while his Loop LF moniker has previously been a mainstay on London based Well Steet Records.
Right now we're eagerly waiting for his upcoming release on @melifera_records.

When we asked the artist for a few words about the mix he told us, that the inspiration for it stemmed from a preference for slower, more meditative transitions and a deliberate, gradual increase in intensity.
The mix aims to evoke a sense of transitioning from the somber winter into the hopeful beginnings of spring, reflecting a personal journey from adversity towards renewal and positivity.
