Oaksmith // UNDER Stream United 04.2020

Oaksmith is a DJ and music curator passionate about world music, ethnic rhythms and afro influenced sounds.

Behind the decks, Oaksmith brings a selection that blends modern rhythms, organic sounds and African drums.

His DJ sets are filled with playful and uplifting tunes, blended in a journey full of energy and passion as his playlists are crafted to dance and cherish the moment.

Imants started his journey in 2010 when he mainly played in Riga's old town clubs, pubs and bars where he was experimenting and exploring various genres and styles, learning to read the crowd.

In the winter of 2016, he happened to go to Norway's alps where he met a few local DJ artists. Under their influence, he discovered and developed a passion for the Ethno-Electronica and World Music infused Slow-Disco.

Once returned back to his home-town, he graduated from the Rīga’s DJ School and began his career under the stage name, Oaksmith.

Nowadays Oaksmith is one of the DJ artists bringing the African and ethnic influenced electronic music to the local crowd, by selecting tracks from genres like Afro-House, Deep-Ethno and Tribal Techno.
