Ansjowvis | Groovy Berlin Techno DJ Set @ club TURN

The theme of the first episode of Water Tower Ollie is identity. Born to Dutch and Colombian parents and a lifetime of struggling between those two cultural identities, Ansjowvis dives into the music representing her heritage. The set only consists of producers and labels from Rotterdam and Colombia, creating a raw and more dark sound representing different and deeper parts of Ansjowvis' identity.

The synths whisper as the mysterious figure rises from his moniker once more. It’s late but that doesn’t mean I’ll Give Up On You — the movie is about to begin as the drums rattle around at a harmonious junction. A preview of Ambience 2000 is shown and I can’t wait for the premiere. It’s Not Easy to not drift off into the distant tomorrows when listening to DJ OSX’s “omkesizze”. It is an ode to a previous life and the beginning of something new. The time is now and once Ahn hits your stereo, you know it’s your cue to go ahead. Susan approves.

We are excited to announce the launch of our label with the release of OBERHAUM01, a dynamic Various Artists EP spotlighting producers who have previously featured on our radio. This release showcases three rhythm-driven tracks, each offering a distinctive sonic identity while sharing a common focus on depth and rhythm.

First up is DJ OSX with “Shutting Capes”—a track built on rhythmic percussion and a rolling low end. As it builds, a pad drifts in, adding a layer of emotion and space without losing the drive.

Next, Davut Yildiz delivers “Trigger Response”, blending Middle Eastern-inspired melodies with deep breakbeats and high-pitched, rhythmic, spacey elements to create a sense of expansive depth.

Closing the release, Uksimo presents “Informal”, a minimalist four-to-the-floor groove. With crisp percussion and intricately layered modular synths, the track offers a clean and focused atmosphere.

Ansjowvis is known for her genre-fluid style. The Dutch/Colombian DJ, born and based in Rotterdam, first made her mark with ghetto house sets and was one of the few who brought this sound back to the forefront in her city. Today, her sets move through underground currents of breaks, electro, trippy techno, ghetto house, and, as an ode to her heritage, latin core.

Her performance at OBERHAUM was a masterclass in rhythm, driven by percussion, hard kicks, hypnotic basslines, and infectious grooves. The mix flowed between breaks, bass, dub, and jungle, building from dreamy textures into in-your-face basslines and high-tempo pulses. Sometimes subtle, sometimes not, but always charged with raw energy.

@anekumena-tapes continues its steady excavation of the fringes with the debut full-length from Amsterdam duo @annarandt and @papigaba. Titled Kill Your Darlings, the record approaches noise as both discipline and rupture: a raw dialogue of detuned guitars, clattering metal percussion, and warped tape loops, reined into form without losing their bite.

Ansjowvis is a Rotterdam based DJ known for her high energy and genre fluid style. Switching it up between ghetto house, ghettotech, trance, bubbling, and trippy tribal sounds, she motivates the crowd to move their body and shake some ass on the dancefloor. 

Outside of the club, she tells a story aiming to being the listener along on a journey. Hosting her own show Verstrooid at PIP radio, she will be inviting DJ’s to research a certain theme and make a thought-out set regarding the theme. 

Next to DJing, Ansjowvis is booker and co-owner of STRO agency (Rotterdam), vinyl collector, working as a freelancer for different events (Hard Attack, Paardenrave) and overall is heavily involved within the techno scene.
