Classic Violinbwoy dubplate from 2011 coming your way, exactly 10 years after its creation! This release, heavily inspired by marvellous Requiem for a Dream OST, takes us on a mystical journey. On this musical expedition we are driven around full frequency spectrum by orchestral instrumentation and sub bass pressure. Make no mistake - this is pure sound system ammunition, reserved for the fittest of the fittest, ready to skank in a dance at 6AM with lights on. 

Side A contains dub interpretation of the famous theme, played, produced and mixed by Violinbwoy in his studio. This one was made during the same studio session as one of previous Violinbwoy releases on Tribe 84  - Thunder of Justice. It preserves dark vibes of OST with few musical spices here and there, FX sounds to kick it even higher on the mountain and create an avalanche of pure, unforgettable melodies. Especially those below 50Hz. On the flipside we are finding slightly more roots & culture vibes thanks to focus on drum and bass section as well as usage of our beloved dub instrument - melodica. When combined with hypnotizng dub mix it makes a perfect meditation tune for all sound system lovers out there. 

Over the last decade these two were played all over the globe, from East Village radio in Manhattan, New York to Imperial Sound Army Sound System in Italy. Now it’s time to end its dubplate status and feed all hungry dubheads with this limited release.

Here comes a brand new collaboration reaching from France via Germany to the Netherlands, back to France and now into the world…
A powerful composition by our friends Natural Tribulation from Grenoble, France, was sent to the great Kenyan singer Empress Black Omolo (based in the Netherlands) for recording. The result: a sweet horns melody and deep bassline, bubbling organs and a pumping riddim meet a tuff voice and conscious lyrics inna “Steamers Meditation” style.
The vocal together with the multitracks of the instrumental then went back to France - this time into the Blackboard Jungle Studio - and the whole project got special mixing treatment by the dubmaster Rootical45.
Now in full effect. A rootikal anthem full of positive energy for all skanking addicts - including several dub excursions for the sound system heads…

Style & Fashion - Lone Ranger & Iron Dubz [Evidence Music]

O.B.F (Original Bass Foundation) are a French dub and reggae sound system based on the outskirts of Geneva. The crew, made up of producer & selector Rico, operator G and manager Stef promote forward thinking dub music.

Heavily influenced by Jamaican reggae, 90s UK dub and contemporary urban music, O.B.F’s sound is distinctive and versatile. They started off as an underground sound system playing at Genevan squat parties. The unique sound of Rico’s productions rapidly gained hype within the dub community and in 2006 O.B.F started putting on their own nights at "Le Zoo" L’Usine, Geneva’s biggest club. Since then, their notorious "Dubquake" nights have become a true institution in the European night scene. The interest around the sound system has grown exponentially ever since.

One of the keys to O.B.F’s success is the unparalleled energy that emanates from the whole crew. You only need to take part in one of their sessions to start feeling part of the family. This ability to bring people together can be seen in the list of artists they have worked with over the years : Sr. Wilson, Linval Thompson, Iration Steppas , Tippa Irie , Killa P , Belén Natalí, Pupajim, Charlie P, Biga*Ranx , Nazamba...

In 2014, O.B.F launched their own imprint "Dubquake Records", an independent record label focused on promoting future dub and reggae. Now with over fifty releases including O.B.F's two stand out albums Wild (2014) & SIGNZ (2020), the label has widened its horizons, producing and distributing documentary films.
