Kicking off the new year we have Frame Shift, a Dublin based DJ who began DJing in early 2019.

His selections are filled with music that holds an uncompromising attitude, threading the line between bright sparks and dark recesses.

Drawing on sounds from UK Bass, such as Garage, D'n'B, and Dubstep, while incorporating the harder side of Techno, Frame Shift utilises his eclectic taste to challenge the norm.

In this mix he has focused on Techno and Breaks, spinning new tracks from some of his favourite producers, along with some older cuts, including material from Kessler, Sharpson, and Madame.

The album's artwork is made by Lea Murphy from MÖRFI Tattoo.

Schranz is a subgenre of techno music known for its fast-paced, hard-hitting, and relentless beats. Originating in the late 1990s in Germany, schranz typically features distorted, pounding kick drums and industrial sounds. DJs who play schranz often aim to create an intense, high-energy atmosphere in clubs, pushing the boundaries of techno with its aggressive and mechanical sound. The hallmark of schranz is its rapid tempo, usually ranging from 140 to 160 beats per minute, giving it a sense of urgency and intensity.

Schranz fans appreciate its raw, unpolished feel, and it's commonly associated with underground rave culture. The genre is often mixed with other hard techno styles, but schranz maintains a distinctive edge due to its uncompromising and brutal approach to rhythm and noise. 

Schranz events are characterized by their intense energy, with the fast tempo encouraging dancers to move with a sense of relentless drive. The German DJ and producer looks back at more than two decades of performing his intense techno sets at clubs and festivals all around the globe. His distinctive sound combines hard driving beats, rough industrial rhythms and melodic depth and has evolved ever since the early 2000's. During the past 20 years O.B.I. has published hundreds of tracks which received much acclaim and support. 

His 2021 release "Gib Mir Alles" took over the scene by storm and foreshadows what is yet to come.
