Fresh off the release of her theatrical 5-track EP 'Grotto', object blue delivers a deliciously off-kilter, rapid fire mix underlining her love for unexpected turns on the dancefloor, but also incorporating some experimental sounds that mesh with the latest material.

Over the past few years, object blue has since become one of electronic music’s most crucial new artists. Her third critically acclaimed EP in 2019 'FIGURE BESIDE ME' and most recent sweltering collaborative club EP with TSVI on Nervous Horizons Hyperaesthesia garnering support from everyone from RA, The FACE, Pitchfork, Dazed, CRACK, Mixmag, DJ Mag and more. 

She’s turned in remixes for everyone from Murlo to Seb Wildblood, been invited to record her debut BBC R1 Essential Mix and performed live at Paris Fashion Week, after composing the music for Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood SS20. object blue was also announced a SHAPE artist for 2020 alongside artists like Afrodeutsche, Rian Treanor, Jay Glass Dubs, Oli XL and more.

London-based producer object blue has been a staple name in rules-breaking dance music for many years. From the blistering club 2024 single ‘chaos discoideum’ to the theatrical unconventionalism of Grotto, her return to TT after 2018's groundbreaking debut Do you plan to end a siege?, object blue’s vision of electronic music is singular and refreshing.
 
“Recently in clubs, I've been starting at 140BPM then switching to 110BPM in the second half of the set. I love exploring that left turn, after the club had been served up fast beats all night. As always, I keep flitting between density and sparseness, blurry and sharp, transcendental and cheeky... but always following the vein that runs through them all.”

You're not ready for this one. @objectblue is a London-based producer and DJ who was raised in Beijing. I've been following her for about a year now and was completely blown away by her live set Ecstasy of Saint Teresa last year. She was named one of @FACTmag's 10 house and techno artists to watch in 2018, and then put out her debut release on @tobago-tracks, do you plan to end a siege? I asked her to do a mix and what came through was blindingly good. Exhilarating, explosive, enlivening.

Originally from Beijing and Tokyo but now living in London, object blue concentrates on the combination of experimental sounds with techno, focusing deeply on their performative potential. Zippy hi-hats shape-shift, urgent spoken-word and TR-808 bass frequencies smear, as propulsive beats slide through wonky spaces reflecting the leftfield terrains of contemporary club music. Her EP "REX" is out now via Let's Go Swimming.

Monster is a member of Oramics, a crew of DJs and producers aiming to empower women in the electronic music scene, and a founder of LOW Kollektiv from Poznan, Poland. For many years she played at squats and other DIY spaces and supported different political fundraisers. She currently performs in different clubs in Poland and is also planning to run DJ workshops for Oramics. Here she brings to you a vinyl mix of tunes released between 1990 and 1995.

After numerous compilation appearances, the first half of 2018 saw object blue put out her first two solo EPs—‘Do you plan to end a siege?' on Tobago Tracks and 'REX' on Let’s Go Swimming.’ Their impact, next to her spellbinding live shows, was so significant that by the end of the year she was one of the most talked about new artists around. The reason is that the Chinese sound designer contorts her drum machines and smudges her synths with utter disregard for any rules and lands somewhere fresh and new; some grey area between broken techno, warped bass and experimental club. 

A sonic meticulousness always manages to shine through object blue’s work, despite what can often be carnage beneath the surface. And that’s the case with the one hour session we end the year with here: it’s a symphony of layers that variously sooth and seduce or rough you up with rhythm. Despite the shades of sound art and musical collage that are never far away, a dance floor narrative underlines the whole thing and will keep you moving well into 2019, a year which promises plenty for object blue.

Club Matryoshka and CTM came together for CTM's 22nd festival edition to revisit the Alpha Lebbeus world, 40 years after we first explored the expansive planet together. With this follow-up collaboration, Club Matryoshka expanded on this unique Minecraft world, together with a story-based gameplay narrative co-developed with artist collective Children of Cyberspace. The six-hour journey was soundtracked by live and DJ sets created by a diverse group of emerging artists from around the globe, curated in a collaborative spirit by Club Matryoshka and CTM.

Founded in 2019, Club Matryoshka is an international virtual venue, home and safe haven to underground and unorthodox music mutants. Based in the Philippines and built in Minecraft, Club Matryoshka was founded and developed by a community of gamers, artists, and musicians. similarobjects, dot.jaime, cavill, ahju$$i, JohnPope, and Maengo69 felt a lack of freedom and acceptance in club scenes, both in Manila and abroad, and sought alternative avenues for sharing their work and finding community. The club opened in July 2019, barely a year before COVID-19 would bring in-person events and nightlife to a halt.
