A charity album on the occasion of the 30th edition of “The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity”

We work in the structures of the club scene on a daily basis. We write about music, produce, organize events. We are united by a love of music, but also a willingness to help. The idea for a charity album was born in March 2021. From word to word, after weeks, we gathered the line-up of artists who were close to our musical tastes.

Many paired artists collaborated for the first time. The album does not lack producer debuts as well as experienced in this field. Everyone, without exception, agreed to take part in the project almost repeatedly, starting its implementation. The entire twenty-five (OTHK is a duo editor's note) were extremely enthusiastic about the idea, confirming our belief in the rightness of the further implementation of the assumptions made at the beginning of the plan - make everything possible by January, the beginning of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity collection and auctions.

The figure of Violent came into being in March 2010 as a heavy industrial techno. Inspired by different aspects of art, he decides to transfer inspirations in to sound. All of this have been noticed by the overseas record labels such as: Dynamic Reflection, Animal Farm, Bipolar Disorder, Vast Perception and many others. They let him develop the project outside the homeland. So far he has visited: Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Malmö, Brussels and Prague but mostly you can hear him in Poland where he is curently living. In 2021 he created a label called "Lethal Curse" which is a project focused on experimental, cinematic an noisy sound with a dose of poems and visual art.

Swarm Intelligence draws influences from black metal, industrial-tinged dub, and post-rock, splicing these with his distinctive take on techno to devastating effect. "Dejected," the inaugural track, unleashes grinding walls of feedback against a relentless broken beat, its foreboding atmosphere heightened by a menacing low growl of distorted bass that permeates the unease. It's a disquieting overture that sets the stage for the tumultuous journey ahead.

The second track, “Eros” envelops the listener in a visceral soundscape, where haunting atmospheres intertwine with grinding feedback and pounding percussion. Initially tense, the track evolves into an unexpected and almost euphoric climax, adding an unforeseen emotional depth to the sonic narrative. We curate queer sex-positive parties with equally queer line-ups, featuring mostly non-binary and trans DJs. Our aim is to platform artists with gender identities that are under-represented in the music industry, showing that it is possible to have more inclusive and diverse booking practices without a decrease in musical quality, but in fact with an increase by bringing new and previously unheard perspectives to the dance floor.

Discovering and nurturing new talent is at the very essence of SUBVERTED. We stand in resistance to the homogenisation and sanitisation to which the techno industry has been subjected in recent years via formulaic, easily-digested productions and repetitive line-ups, and intend to continue opening the industry's gates for a new generation of artists that are pushing their own unique and fresh take on dark industrial techno.
