Coming off the back of a run of breath-taking emotion-laden hits - 'Hi', 'Mantra' and 'Gira' - German duo, Monkey Safari, had actually crafted 'Safe' well before the world was turned upside down. 'We produced Safe as a message of unity, hope and love. When we came to release it, we realised it soundtracked our socially isolated emotions to perfection. Sharing emotions is one of our main motivations when producing music and DJing. Getting together, dancing together, smiling together.'

As we navigated the summer's choppy dancefloor waters, 'Safe' became the anthem we all anticipated. Goosebump-inducing, chill-delivering. Sunset, peaktime or sunrise. It became the soundtrack to a brighter future.

Fresh for '22 it returns, revisioned and remixed by none other than Spectrum boss Joris Voorn. Ready to comfort and lift us once again.

It was nearly a year ago when these two graced with their hugely successful track ‘Hope’ on our ‘Watergate XV’ various artist compilation. Matthias Meyer and Ryan Davis come together again to deliver the stunning ‘Love Letters From Sicily’ where infectious organic grooves pave the way for a flourishing well of emotions in the form of lush pads and shimmering sonics that unfold into a tale of epic cinematic proportions. From start to finish it’s a intimate piece of aural imagery, yet the duo always keep a keen percussive focus making it ideal for any dancefloor moment. 

To complement ‘Love Letters from Sicily’, we’ve enlisted the one and only John Digweed to rework Meyer and Davis’ original of ‘Hope’, and with no surprise, he’s given it the master’s touch. Staying true to the original, while at the same time reinventing the storyline and constructing tension by saving the powerful harmonies for a later climax, he’s crafted a revision that’s both driving and timeless.

Inspired by the aftermath of their critically acclaimed and widely-supported EP, Kora, Voon is back on Sweet Musique less than a year since their debut. Sitting in the weapon arsenal of some of the electronic music playfield’s heavyweights, from label heads Solomun, Rampa, Frankey & Sandrino, to well-traveled DJs Marcus Worgull, David Mayer and many more, the versatility and uniqueness of the Manfredonia-based DJ/Producer duo’s sound is apparent in how it hits speakers and encaptures dancers in venues worldwide. The coalition of former orchestra instrumentalist Giuseppe and techno music producer Vincenzo was not a surefire formula for dancefloor success but it worked, and worked up ravers, headphone partyers and music enthusiasts who simply want to drift to the course of something that was not made to make sense, but inevitably does. 
The title track Arizona starts off robust and laden and warms up when infused with percussion and a very fine trilling of synth sounds. On B-side, Lorius hitches on a hearty drumbeat on its onset as well, but dashes aggressively from dark sequences in pursuit of more luminous frequencies. The Arizona EP, Arizona and Lorius cumulatively, holds no emotions back when letting sound unfold, and places experimentation of sounds, emotions, textures and rhythm at its core. By freely letting tenderness, vulnerability and melody drive their course in an kaleidoscopic aqueduct, the duo churns a two-tracker that unfolds as a two-sided saga of frolicking earth by way of serenading land on one side, and a amaurotic surrender to cosmic pulsations and celestial rhythmus, on the other.
