How long have you been creating music?

SixxSpeed: I've been making music for about 9 years or so now. I've used a couple different aliases though, and just started SixxSpeed 3 years ago or so. It has by far been my most successful alias, and I'm really looking forward to where it's going to go.

What inspired you to write the track released with us?

SixxSpeed: "Jorb The Barbarian" was inspired by my love for super aggressive bass music with stupid one liners, and movies like the original "Conan The Barbarian". My father and I have watched that movie together more than a few times, so I've always wanted to do something with vocals from the movie. However I also didn't want to have to worry about copy right issues. With that in mind I decided to write and record the vocals myself. I felt like it was time to finally try and step up my game and make my music as original as possible.

I've also been really good at manipulating my voice, but not in a singing manner, more in like a cartoonist way. That and my love for funny one liners (or at least what I think is funny) is what lead to the birth of "Jorb The Barbarian". Hopefully we will see more than one of his many adventures in the near future! ;) 

What do you use to make your music?

SixxSpeed: I use Ableton Live 10 for my DAW, and I primarily use Serum as my main synth VST, but I do still use Massive every now and again but I've fallen in love with Serum. I also use Ozone 8 for mastering my own tracks. Other than that everything is a stock Ableton plug in.

Where, and when, did you first discover Prime Audio?

SixxSpeed: I honestly couldn't tell you an exact day, or artist that brought me to Prime Audio because SO many of my major inspirations have released on this label over the years. If I had to choose I would have to say the Getter "Beserker EP" is what brought me to Prime Audio. I remember I fell in love with Getter after I heard his collab with Sluggo back in 2011. Ever since that day I've been religiously following Getter, and any label, or artist he was affiliated with.

As well I used to talk to Haunta way back in the day. We met because we both had artwork done by the same artist. This lead me to his soundcloud, and I instantly fell in love with his productions. I followed him for years, and was brought back once again with his "Too Far" EP. But like I mentioned earlier the talent pool that Prime Audio has amassed is ridiculous. I honestly don't think I can name an artists that has released with the label that isn't an inspiration of mine. Definitely some true OGs. Couldn't be happier with this opportunity. 

What are your current challenges as a producer/DJ?

SixxSpeed: My biggest challenge right now would honestly be the fact I'm trying to juggle so much at once. I find that making music, or at least as an independent artist, most of your time is spent grinding away at things that aren't actually making music. Don't get my wrong either, I love being creative in general, so all the video editing, graphic design, and other things I do are fun for me, but sometimes I just want to make music, but instead I have to deal with a shit ton of emails, and various other angles. I just find it super draining, but hey, no one said this journey would be easy! <3

What are some things you are looking forward to this year? 

SixxSpeed: I'm really looking forward to see where my SixxSpeed project takes me, as well as the new music I'm putting out. I've really been spending a lot of time thinking about what I want to convey, and how I'm going to get that across to people through my art, so 2019 is going to be a year of huge growth for me, even more so than 2018!
