When asked to describe Ocean Full of Fins Music, Frontman Sean Simpson says, "it's a type of West Coast Surf Rock". Just listen to the bands recent release Backyardia, and you'll get exactly what Sean means. From the toe tapping Blues Rock tune, "Howlin" to the rhythmic reggae song, "Dreamin'" Backyardia is an album that reflects the bands deep love and passion for music no matter what the genre or style. 2014 was a busy year for the band, after touring New Zealand and Western Canada they joined forces with producers/engineers Anthony Morelli and Royce Whittaker to complete the recording of their second album Backyardia at Spinnaker Sound. They were also recognized in the Vancouver Fox seeds Radio competition as well as the feature band during a Vancouver Canuck NHL Hockey game. 2015 promises to be an even bigger year, with more international tour plans of Europe in the summer and the west coast of America in the fall, Ocean Full of Fins is excited to bring their reggae folk blues influenced brand of rock and roll to audiences in Canada and around the globe.
