About the artists:

The whole story begins in May 2017 when Shimon meets OUMK, both djing in a French country side Burner event. Aimed by the same musicals aspirations, the 2 recent projects came to murge as a duet and just started now to put their common vision in a real production process. 
"Music goes where the ideas flows". The young collaboration already find its own way into a refine deep ethnical identity with their first releases. Combining instrumentals insights with strong electronic intentions, Shimon and OUMK are traveling in inspirations, exploring the multiplicity of intentions and thematics.
Seeds are planted deep as the vision of the Sun and the Moon both up in the sky, bringing magic in music.

Our penultimate release on Ready Mix for 2017 comes from Portuguese duo Maria and Luis, making their label debut under the 'Ohxalá' moniker to present us with their latest triple tracker 'Sereias do Planeta Vermelho EP'.

The title track 'Sereias do Planeta Vermelho' reflects the pair's obsession with ancient instruments and traditional sounds from Brazil, Africa, Portugal and beyond. Jungle sounds play with tribal percussion and haunting flutes, punctuated by subtle electronic touches in this hypnotic and idiosyncratic chill-out gem.

Also making his Ready Mix debut, spiritual sonic explorer and maker of 'shamanic psychedelia', Lemurian turns in a scintillating remix, making the most of the exotic parts and adding a few of his own to build a soul-stirring Deep Tech bubbler.

Second original track, 'O Barulho do Gizo da Cobra' blends eastern percussion with birdsong and a Brazilian spoken word vocal to create a sumptuous and languid vibe, reminiscent of Thievery Corporation.

On remix duties, nomadic Latin producer MiRET adds a hypnotic hangdrum and some heavier percussion to suit the deepest sunset sessions.

For the final original track 'Berimbal Regionau', Ohxalá once again blend instrumentation from across the globe with somewhat darker electronic touches to create something that sounds almost like acoustic dubstep.

Supplying the final remix of the package, Chilean musician and producer Rodrigo Gallardo takes the track into a flute frenzy over potent organic rhythms and guitars.

He’s been around. Having already an active involvement with electronic music and beyond managing his own label Karakter Records (@karakter-records) or playing in all corners of Europe, the Portuguese Amsterdam-based DJ and music producer Pedro Martins (@pedro-martins-music) has released previous works on labels such Areal, Submarine Vibes & Blankhaus; tracks which represents different faces of his musical apprenticeship. But after taking two years off from production, he returns with refreshed ideas and insights channeled into his brand new EP entitled ‘Kerala’, featuring the clarinetist Martin Grozdanoski.

In point of fact, this work is the first in a series of four ‘chapters’, from whence the original idea was to create an epic sonic from India to Portugal via Morocco. This is due, mainly, to the huge amount of material collected when Martin came to play the clarinet in Pedro’s studio early this year. Together, they realized that to juggle things around it would be better to approach the recordings in sequential EP’s, therefore, taking full advantage of the whole material which has been recorded. At this very moment, Casa Caos proudly releases the beginning of this saga.

Bathed by the Arabian Sea in the extreme southwest of India, Kerala is one of the 28 states of the country, well-known for its coconut palm-lined coasts, a lethargic ensemble of backwaters, stately houseboats and tea-covered hills. Under this laid-back scenario, they put together an intense tropical soundscape blended in quite mysterious timbres and melodies. Pedro played the djembe & congas while the theme in the clarinet was heavenly leaded by Mr. Grozdanoski. 

Despite many instances in which they’ve exploited the composition, there is a continual tenseness curving around, which nicely contrasts with the receptive atmosphere between wind instruments and reverberating elements. To complete the package for an all-around downtempo experience the EP includes a trustworthy multi-layered remix by the ancestral futuristic Portuguese producer BirdZzie (@birdzzie).

Short but not forgettable, sounding warm and intimate, the creative spirit is clearly heard throughout ‘Kerala EP’. And as a result, each listening holds a new discovery on this tropical symphony. Even if the sequencing still has to be tabled, this first of four chapters certainly provides an assertive starting point.

'' I actually was really fascinated by the vocals of the original, so I tried to find a proper translation but it seems that it’s a lost language so I couldn’t find one. This made it even more interesting for me though. It leaves more space for imagination: Is it a song used for rituals where everybody was dancing and had a good time? Is it a sad song which was performed when something bad happened in a tribe? What do you think? Consequently I tried to keep the edit as simple as possible because I wanted the vocals to be the most prominent part of the track. In my opinion, Cosmovision is the best place for this edit and I’m really thankful for them to share it with you/the world <3 As usual I picked 72 beats per minute, so I’m really excited and curious to see how people manage to mix it in a dj-set. Have fun listening and imagining.

estimua came into the downtempo/world scene about a year ago. His mission is to create more tracks that are below 90 BPM, so he started really slow with about 72 BPM. This song is a good example for it. At the same time he is a member of the Berlin downtempo collective called @slowtribe, They've already organized a lot of events at different locations for example with @n-u @peter-power @heimlichaufsc @voodoohop or @kamaimusic
