This is one of my favorite stages in Sonic the Hedgehog 1991, mainly because of the music. It has this New Jack Swing/Funk/Jazz kind of vibe to it, and thought I try my hands at remixing/covering this one. I included a live bass guitar track that I played, adding slap and pop funk bass. This is a continuous mix, meaning it repeats over and over like the video game stage music itself. I will make a more appropriate remix, with solos and other stuff sometime soon (similar to my Streets of Rage remix).

This was one of my first attempts at making EDM (Hard Trance) - back in 2004 on GarageBand. The levels are off - had no idea about mixing at the time.  All I knew back then was just loud. Ick. Haha. At least the one thing I like is the arrangement.

Tetris Theme

If you were a kid in the 90s but didn't play any of the Streets of Rage games, you've probably lived a sad life. LOL. The series has one of the greatest VGM soundtracks thanks to the genius that is Yuzo Koshiro. Here is my tribute - I remixed stage 1-1 from the second game, which has a 90s house feel to it. I added a solo on the jazz organ too. Feel free to download and share!
