A central figure and flag bearer on the international South African House movement, Carlos Mena, joins one of SA’s biggest radio shows, The Warehouse on YFM. The two-hour show airs on Friday nights and is hosted by Just Mo and Josi Chave. 
Carlos, also affectionately known as “King Casamena” in South Africa is on the program presenting an exclusive mix every last Friday of the month. Known for his consistent ability to break records on the wildly successful Casamena Radio Hour, you can expect more of the same on his segment on YFM.

I made this edit that afternoon before the party and opened my set with it.  My strongest memory that night was watching a few Cubans and other Orisha worshippers losing their minds when I put this on.

Again.. I was taking a break from mixing down Ezel's album , and made this one for fun. Didn't spend too much time on it, but I did play it a couple of clubs last week and bangs pretty nicely.

Ocha Records is excited to present to you their debut full-length release. It includes the hits, "Velani", "Heaven" and "For the Birds" as well as some amazing new tunes that should find a place on your playlist for months and years to come. 

Lemon & Herb's first release on Ocha Records, "Velani" was supported and beaten into submission by Osunlade, Louie Vega and Black Coffee, to name a few of DJs that we love. Other DJs that supported this moving song included, Culoe de Song, Master Kev, Danny Krivit, Simbad, and Atjazz. But even before that success, they had already won a remix contest for their work on the Atjazz and Robert Owens tune "Love Someone".

CASAMENA Mix for Beats and Culture party 4/13/13

The PolyRhythm boys, make their manly debut on Ocha Records with this dancefloor heater!

PolyRhythm means "many rhythms" from Soul/Funk/Afro-Beat/Latin/ House/ and everything in between. DJ/Producers David Jonez and Val Carrique originally created the name for their New York based party in 2007. Having built a strong following in clubs like Sutra, Mr. West, Katra and Alphabet Lounge in New York, they became known as the "PolyRhythm boys" by their many supporters.
Currently, in their early twenties, they are already seasoned veteran DJ's who started DJing local parties at 14 years old. The New Jersey based duo played mostly mainstream, Hip Hop and Reggae until discovering New York's vibrant underground club scene at the age of 18 where they immediately fell in love with House Music. In addition to their wildly popular PolyRhythm events in the US, they have become in demand DJ's playing alongside world renowned names such as: Duce Martinez, Mr. V, Tony Touch, Filsonik and Bradford James just to name a few. Their touring schedule has steadily increased with appearances at Sullivan Room (NY), Moomia Lounge (NY), Revival Bar (Toronto), Nocturnal (Miami), Purdy Lounge (Miami) and The GoodLife (Boston) all booked within the last year. Their varied musical experiences and influences have led to their natural progression as cutting edge music producers.
Using live percussion synonymous with their native countries Uruguay and Cuba and combining it with the deep and soulful grooves of the New York City underground has created a base for what is now the "PolyRhythm" sound. With their first worldwide release in July 2010 and with tracks dropping every month thereafter, look for PolyRhythm to further establish what has now become a musical movement for its ever increasing global following.
