Opening with haunting spoken word layered over intricate drum grooves and distant vocal textures, "What Once Was"gradually builds into a lush, melodic groove — where the bassline anchors the listener in the present while the atmosphere floats somewhere between past and possibility. The vocals, written and recorded with collaborator Sarah, unfold like a fading memory, pulling listeners into a kaleidoscope of emotion, vulnerability, and quiet strength. Young upcoming Airtime talent Mattisou has been working on his musical skills for 9 years now. In that period of time he developed his very own sound. Over the years he got influenced by new, fresh stuff, most recently a lot of housey stuff by ground breaking artists such as Toman, Chris Stussy and Djoko.

Mattisou's sound is a new fresh breeze in the crowded worldwide deep house scene, and we at Airtime expect him to do really well in the forthcoming years.

Mattisou is looking forward to his debut on Airtime and what the future holds for him.
His EP will be released the 9th of June. Including remixes by LeaignaVibes and Daniel Meister.
