Who, Me?...... a composition by acclaimed saxophonist and member of the great Count Basie Orchestra, Frank Foster. 

I decided to record all the big band parts of this arrangement and filmed the introduction and saxophone soli. The full track can be found on my channel. 

This has been a challenging experiment for me, and the parts did not come out exactly the way I liked, but it's been a learning curve for what I hope to work on in the future with original music. 

A Disclaimer: my trumpet playing is not up to the same level as the other instruments, so for the lead and 2nd trumpet high notes, I used an octave effects pedal to get the high notes. It's not perfect by a long shot, but in time and more practise, I will be able to play the trumpet parts without assistance. Lastly, I had trouble syncing the audio and footage together due to computer issues, so excuse some of the parts being out of sync.

Egg 15 - MIXED ROOTS

The following work is a dedication to the great saxophonist Phil Woods who's music had a profound impact on my playing. 

This is a multi-dub recording where I play soprano/alto/tenor/baritone sax. I took the first movement of his "Three Improvisations for Saxophone Quartet" and then added my own ideas to the mix, along with a few other harmonic ideas from Woods.

An ambient type electro track, not sure how to categorise it. 
A simple tune inspired by the overcast sky's and murky feel in the air during the occasional dust storms in the Arabian peninsular.

What About Me, by Grammy award winning group Snarky Puppy, is covered here by a project I was part of for a few years ago called Mixed Roots. We took the composition and arranged it for three piece and changed around a few things to give it our own twist.

What About Me

Rockfall is an original composition by a project I was involved in a few years ago called Mixed Roots. This three piece band enjoyed composing groove music with different layers of complexity with freedom and space for improvisation both in solos and in song development. A short lived project where we learnt so much about music and composition and achieving musical freedom among liked minded friends.
