I’ve always resonated with that feeling—
the way music can send shivers down your spine.
There’s a tenderness and freedom in being a child, something I think I’ll always carry with me in some way, and it got me thinking about the whole concept.

I was in the car on the way to a show with my brother T when the song came on out of nowhere,
and I was like, bro, this is literally begging for a flip.
So it began, very organically, just seeing where the project would take me.
And of course, I got fully sucked in.

After testing it out and seeing you sing along at the top of your lungs,
I knew I had to finish it properly and share it with you.

Santana isn’t just part of my musical upbringing - he’s the reason I ever picked up a guitar back at university. to me, Carlos embodies the purest definition of a rockstar. funny enough, this remix wasn’t planned at all… flipping a Santana record wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card, but once I started, it felt meant to be.

choosing which Santana track to remix was its own journey. I found myself sifting through his full discography, rediscovering the same gems my parents used to play at our old summer house during breakfast. and then, “Jingo” came on. instant nostalgia. the energy, the rawness, the edge — it was too obvious to ignore. I locked in, followed the spark, and ended up with one of my favorite creations to date.
