The Mystery
The childhood of Bryan “OC” Bethea is enshrouded in mystery. Most written accounts pinpoint the College Lakes area of Fayettenam, North Carolina as his early home.  Yet, local legend tells the story differently; many residents of  insist that “OC” instead was born and raised in Montclair, another area of Fayettenam. Despite conflicting accounts concerning his origin, the evidence of “OC’s  abilities has left little room for dispute. Always willing to work harder, better, faster, and stronger, Bryan Bethea became a Home Town Hero long before becoming the man we know today as “OC”.
 
The Moniker
Short for Out Of Control, "OC" received his moniker while being a member of the UNC Chapel Hill Tar Heel Football Team. In one incident that took place, "OC" and the team captain got into an altercation that resulted in the two physically clashing .The two eventually reconciled their differences, but "OC"s quick temper and reputation for standing and speaking up for himself soon earned him the moniker that he wears today.
 
The Journey
Writing poetry has always been the constant outlet in "OC"s life bringing him peace and stability. Even during his demanding schedule as an athlete, "OC" would find time to retreat and write poetry eventually becoming skilled at songwriting and music production. However, after gradating from college "OC" found himself far away from the happiness he discovered in music. After a number of miserable years making career and life decisions based on societies norm; "OC" came to the realization that his idea of the American Dream centered on ultimately being happy. From that point, "OC" decided to take destiny into his own hands by quitting his job and pursuing a career in music. Aware that many individuals reach the same dead end in life that he was once at  "OC" decided to coin himself "The Hero" and tell their story as well as encourage them to approach life fearlessly on their own terms.
 
The Music
"OC"s music can be described as multidimensional, encompassing wit and sophistication as well as shallowness and fun. Evident in "OC"s  music is ever going tension between substance, creativity, and integrity reminiscent of the late Tupac Shakur. Many songs make references to the current political and social landscapes. The most consistent theme in "OC" music revolves around the concept of taking life on fearlessly by deciding who and what you want to be instead of letting society dictate for you. Currently "OC" is preparing for the release of his official EP under The Art Department entitled "Home Town Hero."
