Furtive is a full-gonzo polychromatic techno conjurer. A Washington DC-based producer, DJ, and event organizer, Furtive manifests the rave with warping, slippery textures and eclectic asides. Furtive helps foster underground community in the DC area as a DIY nightlife organizer, most recently as a member of SEQUENCE, a local team responsible for putting on some of the District’s zaniest techno parties. 

A prolific and multifaceted producer, Furtive has landed releases on Warok Music, ROOM, Metro Xpress, Northallsen Records, and Format Recordings, along with multiple self-published releases and a handful of further pending ones. Furtive's production spans from psychedelic warphole-diving techno, quirky and muscular electro, acerbic acid, crooked ratcheting bass bits, and drum & bass. 

Before the pandemic, Furtive was often sharing billings with internationally celebrated acts like Wata Igarashi, VTSS, Rhyw, Rrose, Umfang, Sterac, Adam X, Tensal, and Developer. During the pandemic, they have remained fully plugged in and engaged by playing live-streams, recording mixes, and steadily working in the studio.

Octonomy (NYC)
Octonomy is the moniker of Heidi Lorenz, a Brooklyn-based sound artist. Octonomy spans multiple genres; from industrial to noise to darkwave and techno. She uses found sounds, field recordings, voice, power tools, samples, noise, reverb and distortion sequenced through hardware synthesizers to create pulsing, rhythmic soundscapes. Her DJ sets tend to be high-energy, harsh and punishing. Thematically, her work delves into themes of occultism, anti-religion & anti-capitalism.

Age Eternal’s third release on Instruments Of Discipline, ‘Universal Feeling’ is an immediate but meditative experience, through the wall of haze achieved from the minimal instrumentation of guitar and simple synth textures, Lissa’s voice seems to shift in and out of materiality, there is a satisfying ambiguity to the emotions the music summons, tapping briefly moments of wonder and melancholy, as though the world with all its joy and sadness were crushed into a fine powder, poured into the hands of an individual and blown across the heavens. 

The release features three remixes from artists familiar to the IOD roster, Ireen Amnes shifts the title track into an IDM tinged, dystopian sci-fi soundtrack, Angel Karel uses elements from ‘Serpent Smiles Upon U’ to evoke peak, rave transcendence, while Richie Oddie creates a slow and steady rendition of ‘Flower Psalm’ that could be both the beginning or the ending of a long night out, the eternal return.
