Malfunctions is a selection of tracks taken from a 3 hour live set commissioned for the art exhibition “No offense but” by Marcel Szerdahelyi in 2021.  The tracks are an exploration of the relationship and possible intersections between 90’s hip hop and ambient music. The mixtape seeks to evoke a sound that belongs to a different time, an abandoned urban environment that was left to decay, void of humans, in which certain sonic snippets give an idea of what music used to be. Known musical elements keep appearing, that now sound distorted in their context and convey a nostalgia for being human.

For the second podcast on Dreamchannel we are delighted to have one of our hometowns icons in the mix. Deeply embedded in the local music scene and stringing far beyond with regular international gigs, the founding member of the appraised Somatic Rituals label is known for a variety of clubsounds; from driving subwater grooves and introspective rhythmic excursions all the way to trap-infused hitters for the booty-oriented dancers. His diversity in skill and taste of music has provided the soundtrack for many funky nights and will do so for many nights to come.
Today the chef is cooking outside of his usual terrain, stirring together deep bass waves with sad pop lyrics and r'n'b soulcuddles, spiced up by sneaky hyperpop landscape flavours. In a truely colorfull blend of different stages of intensity and switching paces he is driving the train back and forths between Y2K aesthetics and the future beyond tomorrow.
Feels like jumping right into a wave on a hot summer day.

Wave Channel Ep. 02: Mukuna

For the fourth instalment of Wave Channel we invited a selector, whose expansive vinyl collection specializes in the higher range of bpm and that made sound systems boom in some of Europe’s major dance floors. 
Hailing from the Paris underground scene, Mayashiba made a move to Berlin in 2010 where she found a second home as a DJ and later as a label and artist agent, consistently providing a unique blend of sound from techno to breakbeats, electro and booty shake beats for the chasers of refined nightlife.

For this episode of Wave Channel she slows the tempo down a bit, showcasing the calmer and more introspective side of her vast collection, drones and meditative synth lines collide with sporadic percussive elements and tribal grooves to form a nebula of sounds, creating the perfect moment of peace to dive into.

Marytronics is a newly emerged experimental electronic music duo representing FOG Kollektiv, based in Basel. Comprised of Marie Delprat and Masha Ten, Marytronic’s unique blend of thumping beats, pulsating basslines, and intricate melodies, pushes the boundaries of electronic music, conveying hypnotic soundscapes that draws listeners into complex sonic 
textures.
Minimalist aesthetic meets mesmerizing rhythmical patterns, harmonic explorations merge with breaks and grooves, that come to live through the use of drum machines, synthesizers, violin and voice.
