'The Color of What Is' is the full length debut LP from San Diego based alt/psych rock band Odakota. The album is a conceptual and comprehensive composition, utilizing the form of popular music and interviewing each track tougher like a well knit blanket that combines to display a cohesive design. It tells the cryptic story of a song writer's relationship with the epic concepts of time and space, justice, and a deep look at the essence of what it means to be 'native' in a world so seemingly removed from its roots. 

The piece was inspired by a time when the human attention span was ripe for long-form art, challenging the listener to meditate on concepts for longer than the fragmented 3 minutes we have become so accustomed to. Contemplating age old questions of reason and purpose, and highlighting more contemporary issues of tribal sovereignty and the need for spiritual awakening in the face of global catastrophe via climate change and a cruel system of wealth distribution, The Color of What Is begs the ultimate question; are we meant for more than this?

Their efforts have culminated in the forth coming full length concept album, The Color of What Is, set to release in the spring/summer of 2020.
