Mote039 comes from New York-based Mike Parker, a producer known for his consistent stream of quality work, whose first release goes back to 1997 and who is the creator of his own language of music. 

With Spitting Electricity EP Parker showcases his unique sound of dizzying array of hypnotica warped in metallic swirls. Dubbed with a fitting title to characterize his high-voltage soundscape, the EP is also a nice comeback to Mote-Evolver after his remix for Marcel Fengler’s Thwack Remixes release.

This time Parker delivers 3 tracks that are not only powerful, but also designed to deepen and strengthen almost meditative nature of techno’s outer-end, endlessly evolving with fluidity. The title track is charged with electric sparks buzzing through a hard-edged 4/4 rhythm with unstoppable ebbs and flows of intensity. Following “Polar Vortex” adds even more pressure points and characters, especially with hollowed out deep chorus of voice layering unexpected touch of solemnness. 

On the B-side is “Ice Fissure”, the longest track of the EP that takes time to render its full force. It’s also the track that’s most core to Mike Parker’s trademark perpetuating spiral vortex, featuring ever expanding ripples across the surface of sound.

Following the release of his critically acclaimed album, Crossed Paths, Shifted’s next release on Mote-Evolver is the incendiary Razors EP.
The EP opens with title track ‘Razors’ a six minute odyssey. Sounds are layered one on top of another and create a strictly cyclical structure. Shaking, rattling sounds helicopter overhead, syncopated noise unfurls in the mid-ground and underneath hypnotic beats are laid down relentlessly. It’s a dizzying combination.
Following on from this disorientation ‘Over’ ratchets up the BPM and rules it with an iron fist. This is merciless techno that’s full of intelligent details. Out of nowhere jangling blips and bleeps collide with feral bass. Shifted is no stranger to creating dance floor optimised cuts and ‘Over’ is the sound of a producer with a very finely honed craft.
The flip side begins with ‘Bloodless’ a title that suggests cold hearted, zestless deeds and a track that is ironically anything but bloodless. Rendered in twisted beats and synthesised noise there’s a cautionary tale to be heard, a warning about shiny surfaces that conceal deadening agendas.
The EP closes with the unsettlingly ‘Trouble’. It’s just as likely to have you listening reclined, with your eyes closed, as it is to leave you slightly paranoid looking over your shoulder. The palette is stripped back giving rise to psychologically charged atmospherica. ‘Trouble’ leaves you with far more questions than it answers.
Across the ‘Razors EP’ Shifted displays the range and diversity of his productions with refined electronic experiments next to broken beats and strange atmospherica aside lethal dance cuts.

More than 20 years after it first launched, Gaetano Parisio has revived his well regarded techno label Conform. Now back to take up its place at the heart of the international scene. The first release of the new era is the start of a new CONFORM RE-TOUCHED SERIES which will be released over the coming months and contain classic Conform tracks that have been re-edit by some of techno's most influential artists. 
The first release contains four tracks plus one digital only bonus with heavyweights Ben Sims, Mark Broom, James Ruskin, Truncate and Stojche all stepping up.

This is a fantastic way to relaunch a much-missed techno label and marks the start of a great new series.

Before long we will see each other again, hug and kiss one another, and reconnect under more auspicious stars. For now, we wait. Luckily, we have new music for you to pass the time. We present our latest vinyl 12-inch record release: 'Life Under Lockdown', featuring tracks by Kessell (1/2 of the legendary Spanish duo, Exium), Joton (founder of Newrhythmic Rec.), HD Substance (co-founder of Sub_tl, and teacher at the Bass Valley), and JX-216 (co-founder of From 0-1). Modern, syncopated Techno for the new world.

"Dormancy" is a mesh machine-like tweaks and dramatic themes that may have been inert until Eddie Hales songcraft forces it to stagger and sway with the synthetic rhythm. 

The title track begins with breathy synths and builds up its momentum with the bouncing beat. Impulses is a dramatic dance floor track, fencing chords tangle with the rhythm that pulses constantly. Bustling and elastic sound of "Variant 1" evokes the body to move along its excitable groove. The tensile theme of "JU-6" never looses its cools with the stagger drums. 

Jon Hester's remix of "Dormancy" keeps the overall theme but adding an old school approach as the track builds up with creamy synths juxtaposed with the clangy percussion.
