Shaleen

Next up we have a woman who brings her electrifying a-game in each and every occasion. Shaleen started listening to techno music at a really young age. To her, the music and everything around it was always about togetherness, revolution, to stand up for the right things, to grow and to experience them as one. This was also in her mind, when she first started SURD event series and upcoming label. She invented a feminine/queer movement in the west of Germany’s Ruhr-Area, where nothing like this existed at this point. A very significant point in her career was the moment Janein asked her to be the next member of Seelen Records. The whole crew quickly became like a second family to her. 

She released her first debut EP in early 2020 on Seelen Records, which included a Hector Oaks and a New Frames Remix. Quickly followed by the next release dropped by the Turkish label „Primus“, which stands up for women's rights. Another banging release came right after that on Brooklyn’s mighty Whirlwindtrax. 

A lot of dreams came true for Shaleen - she was playing in Germany's most wanted venue's like Institut fuer Zukunft, Distillery, About Blank, Goethebunker, Griessmühle, Pal - just to name a few - not to overlook her first appearance at Berghain’s Säule in 2019, which was a very special moment for her. She also started to travel abroad and played gigs in foreign countries, all of these are currently handled by Ellen Alien’s mighty BPitch so be sure to head over there for all the most recent news and bookings. 
Her music can be described as tough, raw and energetic. It can be super dramatic, fast, or a peak time rave experience, always with a huge amount of energy included.

While producing, Shaleen is trying to focus on what is coming out of herself according to the present moment. She describes music production as some kind of a way to process the deepest feelings or emotions - a love process for sure.

On the local scene, she appeared relatively recently, in 2019 - earlier, dealing with the organization of events with electronic music. She collaborated with Projekt Pralnia, Sunday / Audioriver and the legendary club Das Lokal, among others. The love of electronic music has grown over the years. Carefully collected selection saw the light of night at one of the crazy events that she organized herself. Already at the Transformator club in Wrocław, located at Tęczowa Street.
With full understanding, when choosing the right tracks, he cares about the spontaneity of the numbers he throws from behind the console. Constantly working on a real rollercoaster, letting go of the power to climb again, with a crazy breakdown and be able to hit with full energy, remarkably built drop. Circling between dark numbers, hypnotic sound, raw reverberation, at the same time taking care of continuous progression, not enduring boredom. He cares with understanding about the dance floor, with which he tries to be symbiotic, always deriving pleasure and energy, flowing back from the full dance floor.

Sorry for the sound quality, unfortunately, i didn't get the right setting on the recorder to record the audio of the set.

What you are listening to is what i hear behind the booth at Tresor when i play  the set. I find it nice to share it as it catches the vibe of the party , what we ususally don t get from a standard set recording. 

This was the first time playing this live set, and the first time playing at Tresor. I m so happy and grateful for all of you who show up. 

This live set project started in summer 2022 when I saw Boston 168 live at Berghain, it makes me realize how much i miss playing live. It s also inspired by artists I saw play live recently: Marcel Dettmann, Rico Loop, and Les Fils De Palazo, who inspired me with new ideas on how to perform live and gave me the energy to sit in the studio and get this live set ready. 

What you are listening to is the version of the live set that matches the vibe of Tresor, the room, and the sound system, and connects with the crowd in the club. Each live set is unique.
