Fast rising out of the Middle East, Qatari techno artist Deus Deserto comes with backing from some of the genre’s most respected tastemakers, including ANNA, Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn, Enrico Sangiuliano, Richie Hawtin and many more. Following his recent appearance on the much respected Awakenings podcast series, Deus Deserto steps into 2024 with an impressive label debut on Victor Ruiz’s increasingly popular VOLTA imprint. Spanning two individually captivating club tracks, Deus’ ‘Explode’ EP offers a variation of enriching vibes for Techno lovers worldwide.
Beginning with the title track, ‘Explode’ sees Deus Deserto joined by fellow Qataris S.A.A.D & SwayDee for a firm and fearsome dancefloor tool with a captivating vocal presence throughout. Given a solid foundation with pounding drums and layers of fizzing percussive drive, the track’s marauding energy is met with a gripping vocal topline to deliver a Faithless-esque techno stomper with unmatched personality.
‘Implode’ is cut from a separate cloth, with Deus electing for dreamy tones from the outset. Akin to the sensation of rising from the depths of a pool into the harsh sunlight, its upbeat and tribal tinged drums effortlessly pulsate through a sea of utopian harmonies to deliver the second of two individually stunning records, marking an unforgettable close to another momentous VOLTA debut.
