If the Corona crisis has anything positive going for it, it is to pause and question "normality" - in the broadest sense - and to point out new, contemporary possibilities and integrate them into the (socio-political) discourse. The Postcontemporary JazzBeats Trio "Zur Schönen Aussicht" from Berlin has been doing this for 13 years on a variety of levels. Be it through six different week-long interdisciplinary, future-oriented festivals with up to 70 artists, spontaneous flash mob gigs at public welfare-oriented demos or unusual places like toilets and for sure festivals, as well as by researching new compositional possibilities, e.g. using xenorhythms. So far, the band has played about 150 concerts in Germany and Europe, e.g. XJAZZ Berlin, Akut Festival Mainz, Drum+Bass Festival Dresden, Urban Spree Berlin, Golem Hamburg, E-Werk Freiburg, Coloradio, TGTRMR Festival).
The aim has always been not only to point out glitches and deconstruct them in a postmodern way, but to think ahead - musically, business-wise, sociological - and to practice speculation in a positive sense. In other words, to develop and implement alternatives, contrary to the mainstream. To implement thoughts from new philosophical developements, such as those of the postcontemporary, new realism, from new plural economic system developments and socially critical, global, feminist debates in real terms and also outside of music in the sense of community. In terms of music, this means breaking new grounds for composition and interaction. This means giving space to alternative systems, concepts and ideas in order to meet one's own demands and to really develop something musically new - but as described above - also something that goes beyond that and to perform it live. On top of this they invited some of the most futuristic, idiosyncratic, skilled and open rappers from L.A., UK, France and Berlin, which beam their music up to the next and totally unknown dimensions.
